From the bitter, ultra rationalist, iconoclast House has descended into near cartoon villainy. His wit and humor were once cruel, but now he's just plain cruel. Punching that Australian chick*, nearly sawing a little girl in half and sticking a knife into the lesbian's maternal heart in the last episode were all painful to watch. Well, not the punch, that was funny. Where does House go from here?

Doesn't seem like it can go anywhere but down unless they really switch up the way episodes play it. Its so predictable now. Even changing it a little bit should be very noticeable because of this.

I predict the show sticking to the formula and sinking.

Also, in what direction could the show be taken without it not being House anymore? I think its in a rock and a hardplace

I would say once this story arc is finished, the show will get back to normal.

Honestly, the show was at it's best whenever it had a story, but most of the episode was still centered around the case/House doing clinic hours. Since this cop has come into play, neither of these have been focused on too much. That is a flaw.

I dunno. The cop brings in some interesting aspects, but to be honest, they are more annoying than interesting. I would rather have House deal with Stacy again (probably a late season story arc).

At least House was wrong in the last episode... that never fucking happens. That was interesting. Overall, the last episode was still pretty damn good, but still, we won't get any REALLY good episodes until this cop shit is resolved.

The cop arc has lasted much longer than I anticipated and frankly I don't think it's been very good. However it has provided good conflict for the storyline. The reason House was wrong last episode was because he was in pain. Clearly the meds don't hurt his job, they facilitate it.
