Jesus, I take some pain pills and I wake up in a different world.

Update: they found way too much uric acid in my blood and are feeding me pills. It could be a cause of this. No word back from pathology yet. Just got shots in the stomach (fuck ouch) to prevent clotting internally and shit. Also peed in a jar.

Just skimmed the thread and looks like it's CPPD and not septic arthritis. I know people are joking around, but this could've been quite serious. A septic knee is no joke; there is a fairly high mortality rate with certain pathogens. Bugs like Staph aureus can eat away cartilage leaving significant damage. Anyway, hope you get well soon.

I kind of refer to EB as The Bore already. I've never really had a problem with GAF, but I like the conversation here better. It's more intimate, or maybe it's just that I don't have the disposition to scream into the wind. GAF is just big.

This is an odd forum. It's tied really closely to GAF (tons of GAF expats), but hates the association. It doesn't help when the OL thread turns into a GAF bitch-fest every few pages or so. Laughing at stupidity on GAF, or anywhere else, is fine when it is warranted. Constantly railing on it is tiresome. Why go there if you hate it? Does anyone really care?

I'm also not sure that changing the name/opening the floodgates would necessarily be a good thing either. You kind of have to want to find this place, and that's pretty cool imo. Keeps a lot of shit out. It also helps that a lot of the posters here are the best of the best when it comes to ripping into idiots. Somewhat.

The best aspect about GAF is that it is a great aggregate website. I don't have time to scan through a dozen blogs and newspapers daily and if it is somewhat relevant, there is a thread or a post about it on GAF. Saves me a lot of time. Same goes for game recommendations. GAF has burned me on a few purchases but after the fanboys have settled down, the site usually gives honest impressions of the game (with the exception of Sfags but we all know not to trust them when it comes to the PS3). There are also a few funny moments. Not the tryhard bullshit but legitimately funny. A Doom Bringer as opposed to a Timedog.

The downside is virtually everything else.

Still no updates. They said if the cultures they started with fluid from my knee do not grow anything by end of today, it is likely not a bacterial infection. No word back from pathology on the crystals. Man, pathology would have taken 20 minutes on House. Still in a lot of pain.
