I picked this up when the Gamestop opened and there was a line there. There hasn't been a line this long for a game system since probably the Dreamcast.

Wow, really? There was like two people at the midnight thingy last night. I felt the nerdiest I've ever been in my entire life there. It was some 13 year old with his mom, me, and this uncontrollably flaming tween who as soon as he opened the door to Gamestop, jumped in and proclaimed "omigosh! DSi get!"

I'm not fucking kidding. He was with his dad, and I couldn't feel worse for his father.

By the way, I dig it. The matte finish, I had to get used to, but only because of going from glossy to this level of matte is odd. It feels great now. D-pad are buttons are

The screens are indeed noticeably bigger, and they seem okay, but it definitely has that tint most people recognize in the newer DS units. It doesn't bother me though.

Camera is there, it's cool for what it does, but it's really not a big reason of why I got it.

The new Wario Ware game...is fun for the time you can play it, but it's so finicky to get to work right that it's hardly worth it. Good for some laughs, but it's not a very lasting experience.

much, much better than the DS Lite

just the feel of the system is so much better than the DS Lite. The buttons and d-pad are great compared to the past DS models (still not as good as the Micro). Camera is stupid but I just downloaded Wario tech demo, so maybe that might change my mind.

Wario Ware Snapped doesn't even work for me. The camera is so shitty that it confuses me with the paint on the walls $:-\$ I never had this problem with the eyetoy in this room.

it's definitely finicky. Try to find an area with a blank white or tan wall or something similar, it works near perfect for me there.

When you beat the minigames they actually show you a clip of you doing the actions without the context of the game, and you look like a jackass.

Contra 4 still is annoying to play, even with the better d-pad. The dual screen nonsense still sucks. And the screens do seem better than the DS Lite screens. Most everything is an improvement except the face buttons. They aren't that much worse and the usable L/R and d-pad corners on the DSi make up for it.

Well, it was basically free. I had an old Phat and a Lite, plus games I didn't want anymore. Why wouldn't you take advantage of that unless you were so obsessed with slot 2 carts?

Some gamestop's are still doing the 50 dollar deal for the phat, and 70 for the lite. If you have a game or two you don't care for anymore, then you basically cover the entire system
