Get No$GBA, it emulates DS very good these days. Save your money. If you can run Fallout 3 at 60FPS, you can run DS emulator

Used DSi's already?

They've been out a while in Japan now.  And yeah, pretty much anything can be found used even on the day it comes out here.

I picked up a black one a week before heading on a business trip. So far I haven't found where to switch it from Japanese to English. I'm not a fan of the XMB-like interface they've adopted. The screens are a LOT brighter than my original model DS Heavy.

That's what I'm afraid of. I can read it just fine, but it's not as much fun to pass around to the family and friends if they can't figure it out.

I get enough value out of my DS Fat as I would get if I upgraded to the DSi. Which is to say none at all since there has been no games of interest released for the system in a long while.

I think the worst offense is the region-locked DSiware store.  This means if DSiware every actually becomes worthwhile, import gamers will have to buy TWO DSis, which is bullshit.

Luckily going by the awesome reviews like http://www.gamespot.com/ds/puzzle/wariowaresnapped/review.html DSiware should become relevant about the same time pigs fly.

Yeah, the least they could do after raising the price $40 for a shitty camera and some shitty extra games is make them region free.

What reason do they have for making DSiWare games (and all the DSi-only games coming out in the futre I'm sure) region-locked? Nintendo would make tons of extra cash if they made downloadable games region-free.

I've been told the games are not region locked, but the download stores are. This is likely to prevent Nintendo from being in the sticky situation of dealing with customers for whom they have no recourse in the region.

EB has continued their $70 DS Lite trade in until 4/30. Looks like that's when I'll get it. A little present for myself for finishing my MBA.

Don't really feel like going the exchange route BS with Amazon and deal with re-shipping the system. It's not that bad (just not as noticeably white) and I already put on the screen protectors so I'll just live with it.
