PSP is like the Schrodinger's Console , impossible at any one time to determine if it is alive or dead.

I still want one at some point so I can play Wild Arms XF and R-Type Tactics.

PSP was never dead to me. Parasite Eve III and Kingdom Hearts will be amazing.

I guess Motorstorm PSP will be good.

Sony really knows where the PSP market is.

Nonexistent market on planet earth? There's a better market for the PSP on mars than here. Hope that new 4000 model drums up some excitement.

Rock Band PSP is probably going to be the best one

Harmonix makes Rock Band, and before they made Rock Band, Harmonix made Frequency and Amplitude on PS2.  If this is Frequency 3, then that would be incredible.

Well, it is supposed to play like Frequency/Amplitude, but it's being made by Backbone and not Harmonix

Quote
Following up on the surprise revelation that Harmonix's multi-instrument music series Rock Band is somehow heading to the PSP, Primotech claims to have the details. And no, it won't come with an add-on a la Guitar Hero DS.

The site says it's learned that the off-shoot, dubbed Rock Band Unplugged, is currently in development at Backbone Entertainment, and will feature tracks from Blink 182, Boston, AFI, Kansas, Lit, and The Police plus DLC support when in arrives this fall.

The gameplay resembles Harmonix's PlayStation 2 games Amplitude and Frequency, with players tapping face buttons in time with an on-screen track. Once players have completed a "phase" on an instrument, that track will apparently play itself for a bit, allowing gamers to switch to the other instruments and build up their score multiplier

and apparently everything this guy said is coming true: http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=342988

So price cut in march for PS3 I guess

In these tough economic times, it's nice that publishers are giving out such nice, high quality games, for free.

They better make the platforming controls tighter for LBP.   The floaty controls in the original killed the game for me, despite its awesome visual style and premise.

Ubi seems strangely quiet, no? No Rainbow Six, no Ghost Recon, and no sign of what seems like the most obvious sequel ever.

They confirmed AC2 for 2009 like a month ago.  I guess we'll see it and new Tom Clancy games at GDC.

Party Babyz 2?

I bought a DS a little while ago, and decided to take my 3-year old daughter to Gamestop, to let her pick out a couple of games. The absolutely first thing she grabs is Imagine Babyz.  :usacry

They confirmed AC2 for 2009 like a month ago.  I guess we'll see it and new Tom Clancy games at GDC.

I want a new Ghost Recon. Not another techno-blah GRAW affair, but a real Ghost Recon. It doesn't even need multiple squads, just make it less reliant on tech, and more about being a badass elite dude stalking enemies in some mountains somewhere. Far Cry 2: Ghost Recon, please.

Bout time Sony showed the PSP some love, and I came when I read the thread title. But it's obvious that Sony still doesn't know what to do with the PSP, since all of these games started on a console. The few games that have actually been made for the PSP and handheld gaming in mind have been very good (i.e. Jeanne Darc and Patapon).

I think Ghost Recon is kind of stuck now.  That HUD system is what I think really differentiates it from Rainbow 6 now.  Maybe the next game could be a series reboot like GRAW was.

This has been the problem since day one. If you're offering the same titles on multiple systems it will never get its own identity.

PSP has been saved!

spoiler (click to show/hide)
Please ignore the fact that the "saving" is being done by ports of games that failed to "save" the PS3

What do you people expect? The PSP is a basically a PS1.5 that you can fit in your pocket. You aren't going to get original ideas that take advantage of the system because, guess what, there's nothing to take advantage of. It isn't like the DS where you you have the touch screen. It's a bloody playstation so expect playstation games,

Except for the 'net connectivity. And supporting up to 15 players in multi without a lot of song-and-dance about a multi-tap.

I mean, I think I see what you're saying: "It's not as strong as a PS2, and without a 2nd analog stick the interface is not even as deep as PS2's, either." If so, I agree.

Sony pretty much postured the PSP as a PS2 that you can fit in your pocket, at which point EVERYONE expected PS2-level framerate, depth, and quality. And with the install base, PSP-only titles just can't afford to do anything in that category other than ports, and PS2 ports always, always pale in comparison to the source.
