I like this so far. He's in like a natural state of awkwardness and confusion even when he probably knows exactly what's going on (giving him some credit here), and if Conan's show taught us anything about the talk show format, it's that that sort of thing can be a winning formula. I don't know if it'll maintain it's feeling of controlled chaos the way Conan's Late Night did through the years, but as a host, he seems to be suitable for carrying the torch.

Honestly, Carson fucking Daily tries to be "hipster-cool." Fallon has STATED that he's not trying to do anything new, he's just going to try and capture the same audience as Conan did.

He's doing absolutely fine, especially for his first show. GAF hates everything.

I just think it it's fucking ridiculous to expect a fucking flawless and classic talk show episode in the line of Carson or Conan on the first night. Hell, for the first couple of months he's going to be adjusting. Conan didn't grow into his own until the 4th or 5th season. Why should anyone expect like, post 5th season Conan on Fallon's first episode, let alone his first year?

I just watched a very obvious "first-show syndrome" first episode. It needs work. But like I said, it has potential and I can see Fallon growing into the position. They've got the foundation: now build a niche and a humor all of your own.

I wasnt expecting anything flawless, but I do think more should be expected of Fallon, and he should have a better learning curve than Conan since he's not a stranger to being in front of a camera.
