Guitar Hero Greatest Hits loses the plot

IGN: Will there be any way to purchase this disc and import the songs into Guitar Hero World Tour (or vice versa) to have all of the tracks accessible at once?

Paul Gadbois: The 48 songs in this game will all be instantly playable and are designed to be playable off the disc only.

IGN: Eight new venues are being added. Will any classic venues from other Guitar Hero games be recreated for this release?

Paul Gadbois: Like all games, the development team first has to sit down and brainstorm all the different directions a game can take until you all agree on what would be the coolest. We all agreed on one thing: "We need to play the greatest songs in the greatest places." From there spawned the idea to travel the wonders of the world so we explored all the different sites going through the Ancient, Medieval, Modern, Underwater, and Industrial wonders (to name a few). With this gigantic list of possibilities we finally managed to cut it down to the final list that made it into the game. Here's a preview of some of the fantastic places you'll visit: "The Amazon Rain Forest," "The Polar Ice Caps" and "The Grand Canyon."

$60 on PS3/360, $50 on Wii, DLC isn't compatible. End this abomination now. :yuck

Epik Phail

Although to be fair, the Grand Canyon would be a pretty awesome venue. It'd be like in those music videos where the guy's on the edge of some cliff wailing on his guitar. :rock

Apparently there will be, like, eight GH titles this year.

If they stick all the Muse songs from GHIII/DLC on this compilation, I will definitely buy it.

Does GH outsell Rock Band? Really? What a travesty.

Though I'm seeing the previews of GH: Metallica, and in my mind's eye I can see every hessian from here to the other side of the planet throwing their horns, and opening their wallets.
