Beatles might be highly influential and all that but I don't see how you can base a whole game off of them. I hope they have other musicians in the game from the time period. The Guitar Hero series is the perfect example of how not to do a specific artist game. After playing Aerosmith's GH game and playing the Metallica GH demo at gamestop, they need to do more to make it a custom experience that reflects the bands style and time period. If anyone has the ability to do that I'd say it'd be Harmonix. If its just a reskined rockband  :-\

Errr yes i know.

The reason so many people think this is going to sell well is because people who havent played GH/RB will get this. Will those people buy RB2 and then RB Beatles . No. Those people will want the full bundle, and a 250 dollar bundle will bomb at retail,

Metallica is a niche band and nobody cares about Aerosmith. You really can't compare those two bands to the Beatles. The Beatles have a better, more diverse library of songs; more historical importance; and a broader, larger fanbase.

They're niche because they're almost exclusively a hard rock/metal band--arguably they're the most successful metal band, but they're still niche. The Beatles, in contrast, delved into many genres. And their fanbase is much larger and much broader--teens still listen to the Beatles as do retired baby boomers. So, yeah, compared to the Beatles, a band that has sold billions of albums and records, Metallica is niche. Live with it.

Score hero kiddies? And do you think they make up a large percentage of consumers that buy these games? Don't let videogame message boards warp your perceptions.

No one really knows.  But since they're using the Rock Band name and Harmonix has been touting the whole "rb's a platform!!!" thing since the beginning of time I'd be surprised if they didn't let us export them.

Now as for how much it'd cost to export the songs in the first place (RB1 was $5), we really have no clue.

I fired up GH Aerosmith to try to get Score Hero (which i failed miserably, of course) and the game just keeps locking up on the load screen. Fucking ridiculous.

(if anyone has it and wants to co-op it let me know thx)

This is a day one purchase for me as well. Not only do I like the Beatles, but it'll get my wife to play the game as well. EPYK VICTORY!

I thought this thread was going to be about the rumored EIGHT (8!!!) Guitar Hero titles rumored for launch, milking the franchise like the oversized teat of some gigantic mooing thing in desperate need of being milked. For milk.

Dhani Harrison, the son of George Harrison, is the one that actually brought the Beatles Rockband project to Apple Corps, the Beatles record company. According to him, the game has been in development for a couple of years. And he seems to indicate that it will include unreleased music.

http://www.billboard.com/bbcom/news/dhani-harrison-talks-new-band-beatles-video-1003950636.story

Billboard says Dhani "was used as a model for some of the game's characters." From that I infer that (a) the Beatles are actually in the game, and (b) he was used as a model for George Harrison (duh). Since the article uses the plural models, I assume he was used as a model for Harrison through out different periods. This means we will have different looking Beatles characters, from slick backed hair, to mop tops, to long, filthy hippie hair.

I don't think he ever recorded with the Beatles. Harrison played the sitar in "Norwegian Wood" and Harrison used session musicians for other Indian-lite recordings.
