DON'T YOU TELL ME TO SMILE!
« on: July 30, 2006, 05:48:35 PM »
Well Now don't you tell me to smile
You stick around I'll make it worth your while
Got numbers beyond what you can dial
Maybe it's because I'm so versatile
Style profile I said
It always brings me back when I hear Ooh Child
From the Hudson River out to the Nile
I run the marathon til the very last mile
If you battle me I will revile
People always say my style is wild
You've got gall you've got guile
To step to me I'm a rapophile
If you want to battle your in denial
Coming from Uranus to check my style
Go ahead put my rhymes on trial
Cast you off into exile

Intergalactic planetary
Planetary intergalactic

Jazz and Awol that's our team
Step inside the party disrupt the whole scene
When it comes to beats well I'm a fiend
I like my sugar with coffee and cream
Well I got to keep it going keep it going full steam
Too sweet to be sour too nice to be mean
On the tough guy style I'm not too keen
To try to change the world I will plot and scheme
Mario C likes to keep it clean
Gonna shine like a sun beam
Keep on rapping cause that's my dream
Got an A from Moe Dee for sticking to themes
When it comes to envy y'all is green
Jealous of the rhyme and the rhyme routine
Another dimension new galaxy
Intergalactic planetary

Intergalactic planetary
Planetary intergalactic

From the family tree of old school hip hop
Kick off your shoes and relax your socks
The rhymes will spread just like a pox
Cause the music is live like an electric shock
I am known to do the Wop
Also known for the Flintstone Flop
Tammy D getting biz on the crop
Beastie Boys known to let the beat... drop
When I wrote graffiti my name was Slop
If my rap's soup my beats is stock
Step from the tables as I start to chop
I'm a lumber jack DJ Adrock
If you try to knock me you'll get mocked
I'll stir fry you in my wok
Your knees'll start shaking and your fingers pop
Like a pinch on the neck of Mr. Spock

Intergalactic planetary
Planetary intergalactic
Another dimension do it

I'm coming down, coming down like a monkey, but it's alright
Like a load on your back that you can't see, ooh but it's alright
Try to shake it loose, cut it free, just let it go, get it away from me.

Cos tonight, tonight, tonight - oh, I'm gonna make it right
Tonight, tonight, tonight - oh.

I'm going down, going down, like a monkey, ooh but it's alright
Try to pick yourself up, carry that weight that you can't see,
Don't you know it's alright
It's like a helter skelter, going down and down, round and round
But just get it away from me - oh.

Because tonight, tonight, tonight - oh
We're gonna make it right
Tonight, tonight, tonight - oh.

I got some money in my pocket, about ready to burn
I don't remember where I got it, I gotta get it to you
So please answer the phone, cos I keep calling, but you're never home
What am I gonna do
Tonight, tonight, tonight - oh
I'm gonna make it right
Tonight, tonight, tonight - oh.

You keep telling me I've got everything, you say I've got everything I
want
You keep telling me you're gonna help me, you're gonna help me, but you
don't
But now I'm in too deep
You see it's got me so that I just can't sleep
Oh get me out of here, please get me out of here
Just help me I'll do anything, anything
If you'll just help me get out of here.

I'm coming down, coming down like a monkey, ooh but it's alright
It's like a load on your back that you can't see,
Ooh don't you know that it's alright
Just try to shake it loose, cut it free, let it go
But just get it away from me
Cos tonight, tonight, tonight - oh
Maybe we'll make it right
Tonight, tonight, tonight - oh.

Please get me out of here
Someone get me out of here
Just help me I'll do anything, anything
If you'll just help get me out of here
Tonight - oh, I'm gonna make it right
Tonight, tonight, tonight - oh.

Yes tonight, tonight, tonight - oh,
Yes I'm gonna make it right, tonight, tonight, tonight - oh...

As much as i like peter gabriel and that to me would be a true regrouping. I'm happy to see this news. I'm gonna go see them when they come to the states thats for sure. I just hope it doesnt end up like the sting/police shit. Where they play all of stings songs and not a lot of police songs. Phil is the man though he's got a voice.

I CAN HEAR IT COMING IN THE AIR AT NIGHT OHHHH LORD

That's not Genesis.

Ok you name some original Genesis songs that you like to listen to on a regular basis? To most people they like Phils Genesis. Peters Genesis was just strange acid trips but i love it all none the less.

Phil Collins > Peter Gabriel

I don't think much more needs to be said about that except that you're a fucking taco.

Yeah, I think the vast majority of the music-listening public disagrees with you.  Collins's "Genesis" wasn't even the same band.  Genesis is Lamb Lies Down on Broadway, not We Can't Dance.

You should probably rethink your statement. You and a few other fuckwads really don't count as a 'vast majority'. More people want to see Phil Collins at the head, and that's a fact.

More people wanted Republicans to lead the country, too.  And more people paid to see Titanic than any other movie in the 90s.  Just because the public's opinion is frequently distinguished mentally-challenged doesn't mean that Phil Collins is a better musician than Peter Gabriel.  Jesus, what type of fucked up world do I live in where I even have to type out the preceding sentence?

Sorry, you're distinguished mentally-challenged and you listen to shitty music.  Phil Collins is the musical equivalent of Bz's shrunken doodle.

:lol :lol

I like Peter's Genesis a lot better, but I still have special place in my heart for songs like "In The Air Tonight."  Maybe it's because my dad used to play him a lot.

I understand that!  But you implied that Phil Collins as a whole is shitty.  Phil Collins + Genesis = Shitty.  Just want to clear that up.   :D
