heh, it would be funny if they did this and China interfered instead of anyone else. But I honestly think its more a case of North Korea trying to act tough instead of sulking while South Korea and US do military drills that are done annually.

They are not launching a satellite, It's a missile. A shitty missile, but a missle that may have the range to strike California.

Kosma, you gotta realize something: As long as the military industrial complex stands in North Korea, no amount of aid sent there will do any good, as it will be stolen and more palaces will be built for Kim Jong Ill.

I don't take any of North Korea's claims seriously. Yes, we should be treating them with kid gloves, but to pretend that they're even capable of half the shit they say they can do is foolish.

I'm enamored of the idea that, with less troops in Iraq, and hopefully pulling the National Guard back to, you know, act as the National Guard we'll (a) have conventional forces available to keep N. Korea wondering how far they can push, rather than just being pushy, and (b) have some non-PMC forces available if something like NOLA/Katrina happens again.
