Excite Truck was a lot of fun. The trailer for this game was stupid and I hope that the scenes shown here were just selected to show off the new stuff, not give you an example of races would be.

Yeah, I NEVER got the GAF hype... the game wasn't bad but the controls were much too sensitive and track design made it too easy to crash into the trees, killing momentum.

That game doesn't look too bad actually, really silly but at the very least, creative. The music has to go though, it reeks of mid 90's Midway arcade racing.

I liked the first one because you could do cool slides and really get a rhythm going with jump-boosts. You could do full laps without letting off the boost or overheating, if you were good. ExciteTruck needed work but what it doesn't need is hitting clowns with pies.

I tried to like it during the Wii launch week when I was giving all the Wii soft a fair shot. But the controls were just too inaccurate for me and the graphics were complete shit framerate and visually. I'd rather play F-zero GX or something.

Excitetruck was a fun game. Nothing insanely special but decent enough. The game had some good, if beta, ideas like the terra formation. Plus the Wii controls weren't bad

I still need to see more about Excitebots first. Is it going to have the custom soundtrack? Is it going to have the terraformation or the boosting feature? These are important questions and hopefully the new crazy features aren't merely replacing the old stuff but adding to it. However even considering this I don't understand why this game is getting so much hate in places.

Excite Truck actually was fun, like Hydro Thunder on wheels. This, however, looks fucking stupid. That's not to say that I never thought Excite Truck looked generic--it DOES look generic, but it also has an appreciable sense of speed and the super-sensitive tilt controls somehow made tree runs much more enjoyable.

EDIT: I think I just found out why I thought Excite Truck was so fun: scoring points for tree runs and truck smashes. There was something spectacularly satisfying about getting a 5-star rating for both. Oh yeah, and the terramorphing was pretty cool too. Every race was stupidly chaotic and the original buttrock soundtrack suited the game well.

Eternal Sonata is awful, one of the worst RPGs I've played since Xenosaga.

And yeah, the custom soundtracks were a great idea for Excitetruck, hell, for games in general... even if my music collection is much more suitable to the Wipeout series.

It's a reasonably decent game with really ugly visuals, performance issues, and the most generic presentation this side of Chevy VS Ford.

Most of the hype comes from Wario pimping the game at GAF and people jumping on the bandwagon. It is certainly a good game, but not the second coming of Christ.

I dunno. It's hard to have much fun with the controls. Like drohne said, with no feedback it's really hard to steer exactly where you want to and since there are things to crash into everywhere that just makes it annoying when you smash into something you didn't want to drive into.

If it had analogue controls and a stable framerate I'd dig it.

I think it gets a free(er) pass just because you're always going so fast and making insane jumps, so the steering is, well, always going to be touchy. I would rather have that than the stiff motherfucking chore of controls that Motorstorm has.
