It's March 10, Clipse's new single was supposed to drop on March 9. They clearly meant March 9, 200never, because Clipse can never seem to fucking get it together with the release of a single, etc. I probably won't even like this single as much as I would have had it dropped yesterday, because the excitement has completely worn off, and I'm frankly completely disappointed in them. This was one of the weekends where I was actually looking forward to Monday.

Is it even their fault? I'd imagine they don't like their single either, it's the label dictating to them. It features Kanye West right?

Of course they'll never go platinum. I'm not some huge Clipse fan - HHNF is pretty good, not great to me - but I can admit they don't do the same type of "drug rap" as most mainstream rappers. Their coke rap is more comparable to Raekwon/Ghostface type stuff than say...Young Jeezy and Rick Ross. And the less glorified, more vivid coke rap doesn't sell anymore.

It's not that they don't like their new single-- they posted a video about how awesome it's going to be, how excited they are for it, etc.-- it's just that they won't drop it. This I actually imagine is the label's fault. They seem to be really excited about their new label, album, etc. (collaborations with Rick Rubin, Kanye, of course the Neptunes), and according to a guy from EW who got the first listen to a bunch of their stuff, it's going to be a big change in direction. Kinda Like a Big Deal is supposed to be their first party track in years. As for HHNF, that's probably one of my favorite rap albums ever, so I can't agree with you there.
