Ambassador Chas Freeman is sunk, withdraws selection to National Intelligence Council.

Oy.  Just goes to show that you can have a robust debate over whether or not Israel is awesome or SO awesome in ME policy.  Mandark and Willco, I saw that fist bump!

Freeman also said some pretty harsh-sounding stuff about Tiananmen Square, but I don't think anyone believes that's the root cause of this.

Hell, Dennis f'n Ross is being accused of membership in the Iran Lobby these days.
