New:

Atelier Rorona [PS3] -- Gust moves to the PS3? More old school Aterlier Iris action? I wonder if MAF is happy?

Biohazard - Dark Side Chronicles [Wii] -- More on rails action for the Wii? What about RE5? Butthurt Wii fans are secretly annoyed?
Adventure Island [Wii] -- Must be that shit game Demi posted about a couple weeks ago.
Professor Layton and the Devil's Flute [DS]

Reviews:

Super Robot Taisen K - 9887 -- Hells yeah, too bad it's on the inferior DS, though.
Cho Aniki PSP - 7676 -- Totally picking this up for the homoerotic camp factor.

I wonder if people in marketing departments deliberately put 'Chronicles' in game names to piss people off. :lol

prole is too busy tugging it to comment

He was in here an awfully long time without posting. Those Atelier pics must have been REALLY good for him.

Gust and the Atelier series does nothing for me, but some really good looking hand drawn 2D could be cool.

Was there just a bare-boned announcement for Darkside Chronicles or were there actual screens?

Upper right hand corner lists Biohazard Dark Side Chronicles in Katakana. There appears to be some sort of article on page 19, but we don't have scans of it yet.

Ach, RE2 (and possibly CV) shooter. That's disappointing. Expected, but still. Still, if it looks like it's better than UC I might give it a go, if only because of RE2's inclusion.

I've seen the article. Not only does it confirm that it's a gun shooting game like UC, but it also confirms that it's developed by Cavia, like the first game.

i hope there are more pics to check out.

another quote from the duck

It says the controls are being simplified, but how much more simple can you get from POINT AND SHOOT honestly...

they could always get rid of the knife crap and take out the camera movement with nunchuck thing.

Did they have shake-nunchuck-to-reload in RE:UC?  I can't remember.

But I hate virtually all shaking in Wii games so they should replace it with a simple shoot-offscreen-to-reload if they did.

Controls simplified could just mean they'll make it wiimote only, which would help make the game catch on with casuals.  Notice how its not UC 2 but now has a new subtitle to differentiate itself.  Ignorami will buy it thinking its a new installment even if they were dissappointed by UC.  So you have biohazard fans+simple point and shoot - UC connotations and I could see it taking off. In Japan the Wii is tanking.  It really needs SOMETHING high profile besides Monster Hunter and if this gets good word of mouth this could be a huge help.

Ahahaha.  On rails RE and online fees for Monster Hunter.  Capcom trolls the Wii like a pro. 8)

Are sales dropping off in Japan? (I really have no idea).  That could be a really good thing, maybe it'll help get some better software on the console.

If you're being sarcastic, I totally missed it. :(

The wii is selling on par with ps3 ( x<20,000 weekly) The 360 outsold it for the week with Star Ocean, and the ps3 should spike over it with Yakuza 3.

Furthermore, the "evergreen titles" like WiiSports/Music/Play have all dropped out of the top 30 for awhile now.  If Japan is indication, the Wii could turn out to be a fad.

Well that's something different.  I really hope this leads to a different approach, even if Nintendo themselves started putting out some games I give a crap about.  I think Galaxy was the last Nintendo game I bought.

Its really perplexing.  You'd think if ds was any indication, nongames would sell forever and carry the system with it for the longest time.  But the interest isn't there anymore.  PS3 proves the otaku can't sustain the industry so I may have to admit that AMIROX OF ALL NARCISSISTS may have been right that the mass market will never accept video games because simply, they are TOYs.  If Monster Hunter 3 and M+ don't turn the situation around Japanese developers are going to be aping western devs from now on.

edit: but really games and consoles could attract alot more customers.  It would be brilliant if Nintendo could get the Wii down to 100 dollars and start selling games for 20-30. But thats just wishful thinking.

The Wii hasn't had anything worth playing in nearly a year now in Japan.  Eventually, it gets to the point where everyone who wants to buy Wii Sports has bought it.  Wii Fit is hanging on because it came out much later than the others (Wii Sports, Wii Play).

I wouldn't say the Wii's momentum is running out but the days of selling shitloads with almost nothing out for it is pretty much over.  Not sure how US sales were but I saw numerous Wiis at a Target.  Could just be a new shipment in but that is probably the most Wii units I've seen on the shelves.

I love the shit outta rail shooters, but gosh dang, how many zombie shooting rail shooters do I need on one system?  This will be my 4th (5th if Dead Space Extraction comes out first).

I do hope it plays better than the first.  I couldn't even enjoy the fan service of the first game because it was so boring.

Huh. The graphics do appear to be all new, and it does seem to have more of a faster "cinematic" style than UC did.
