Chuck Norris, President of Texas
« on: March 12, 2009, 12:22:46 PM »
Quote
On Glenn Beck's radio show last week, I quipped in response to our wayward federal government, "I may run for president of Texas."

That need may be a reality sooner than we think. If not me, someone someday may again be running for president of the Lone Star state, if the state of the union continues to turn into the enemy of the state.

From the East Coast to the "Left Coast," America seems to be moving further and further from its founders' vision and government.

Quote
"Do you really believe that there is going to be trouble in the future?" And he answered, "If this country starts to spiral out of control and Mexico melts down or whatever, if it really starts to spiral out of control, before America allows a country to become a totalitarian country (which it would have under I think the Republicans as well in this situation; they were taking us to the same place, just slower), Americans won't stand for it. There will be parts of the country that will rise up." Then Glenn asked me and his listening audience, "And where's that going to come from?" He answered his own question, "Texas, it's going to come from Texas. Do you agree with that Chuck?" I replied, "Oh yeah!" Definitely.

Quote
I'm not saying that other states won't muster the gumption to stand and secede, but Texas has the history to prove it. As most know, Texas was its own country before it joined the Union as its 28th state. From 1836 to 1846, Texas was its own Republic. Washington-on-the-Brazos (river) served as our Philadelphia, Pa. It was there, on March 2, 1836, where a band of patriots forged the Texas Declaration of Independence. (We just celebrated these dates last week.)

I love how you can really see the difference between lefties and right-wingers in how they claim how they refuse to live under a president of the opposite party.

Liberals threaten to move to Canada
Conservatives threaten to lead a armed revolution to secede

Lol, I was just talking about this to my father. Either they want a armed revolution to secede or they want to move to like third world countries where our money is worth tons of their money and live on a yacht for the rest of their lives. The funny thing is, no one is really as patriotic as they sound. We either want to tear the country apart through civil war or move, collectively, either right or left wing. It's ridiculous. More proof that everyone in this country is full of shit.

Well, I think it just shows that the polar opposites are often more alike than they care to admit. Luckily for us, the vast majority of America are not extremists. But they are unfortunately tied to these nutjobs because of our two-party system.

I wonder if the middle will ever wake up and realize we are being held back by these fringe elements.

What confuses me is that people like Chuck Norris think there are actually enough people in a state (yes even in Texas) who'd want to lead a secession against Obama to actually have it happen. He'd have a small band of wacko's who'd easily be over powered by that town's local police force.

Yeah I know, that is why I said it'd take the town's police force!  :-* If it was anyone else then a single cop or two would pretty much have it under control.

It'd be hilarious to watch. His attempted secession would last all of about 10 minutes till his band of merry men would be rounded up and thrown in jail.

No matter how bad they think Obama is doing he has consistent 60%+ approval ratings for over 2 months now. If all the messy stimulus fight & all the controversy over his cabinet picks have yet to dent him it is going to take a lot more then them whining about him spending money to outrage the middle.

I mean look at Bush, even Iraq didn't sink him under 50%, that really didn't happen till Katrina.

Well I guess we need to add "crazy conservative civil war" to the list of ridiculous and unlikely wars I need to prepare for, right up there with "zombie apocalypse" and "alien invasion."

The only difference is that the zombie apocalypse is more likely to happen.
