Quote
What if life on Earth began in outer space? Millions of people accept the theory that intelligent life forms visited Earth thousands of years ago and were worshiped as gods by primitive man. Are monuments like Stonehenge and Easter Island the last remains of an ancient alien visitation? From unexplainable super structures, to knowledge of the solar system, mathematics, and even the ability to make electricity, this special explores evidence of super-human influences on ancient man and embarks on an around-the-world search for answers. It's an investigation into a theory some believe cannot be true, but many agree cannot be ignored.

I watched this over the weekend thought it was a decent show. But toward the end, they get to this site called Pumapunku. It's a site where a pyramid was being built but know lays in ruin. Here is a website with some pics

http://www.world-mysteries.com/mpl_6.htm

Some of the blocks at this site weigh in at over 440 tons. How were they moved and lifted?

What intrigued me most about this site over all the others was the some of the work on the granite. Some of the work was argued it couldn't be done without machine AND diamond tipped tools that would be necessary to cut granite. Do you think this technology existed 17,000 years ago when construction started on this site?

Architecture like that was possible without what we think is basic and necessary machinery, like the wheel.  The pyramids in Egypt were constructed without the wheel and without cement.  I haven't read into what you posted too much yet, but maybe whoever built this were just mathematical and engineering marvels.

The argument the show makes is that there are pyramids all over the world. And all are roughly the same dimensions(600ft. base, etc.), But at PumaPunku, all the "experts"  believe that the structure predated the current civilization ability to write. Basically, they were making a structure with no plans.

National Geographic has a different theory, one that's not based on Stargate, but what would they know?

That's pretty cool. I wasn't leading on like I agreed with the existence of aliens, but that it was an entertaining show.

My interest was more with "machining" of the rocks in PumaPunku.

didn't mean to get hostile.  But I actually saw a History channel show that seriously posited whether or not aliens built the pyramids and it was some of the most infuriating hokum I'd yet seen.  It was like a show made entirely by Youtube commentators.

got you to watch it though, which is all they needed.

when i was a kid i was really into Chariots of the Gods and the 110 category on the dewey decimal system. i'd watch In Search Of, unexplained mysteries and the like for hours.  the paranormal, unexplained and cyptozological held a huge pull on my imagination.

Would I be correct if I assumed that Sitchin appeared somewhere in this program?

I missed the first half hour, but I don't remember seeing him in what I saw.

It's on again this week:

Wednesday, March 18 08:00 AM

Wednesday, March 18 02:00 PM

Cue it up on the DVR. The second half of the show is better IMO.

He just seems to be the go to crazy old coot to show right before a segment with counter-evidence.
