Edmonton, Alberta, Canada – March 17th, 2009 – Leading video game developer BioWare™, a division of Electronic Arts Inc. (NASDAQ: ERTS) today officially announced Mass Effect™ 2, the highly anticipated sequel to the multi award-winning 2007 hit, Mass Effect. The Mass Effect trilogy is a masterful science fiction adventure set in a vast universe filled with dangerous alien life forms and mysterious uncharted planets. Mass Effect 1 was pretty much a Sega CD game. You press some buttons and a cut scene plays. But I liked it!

PC version better be released day and date with the 360 one this time

and the game better be 4x the lenght because it was pathetically short when you remove all the blank cut 'n paste barren planet trekking missions

I'm not sure that's gonna happen.  It rarely happens now.  It will probably be delayed at least a week or so at the least or months at the most.

Dragon Age will be on PS3 it seems pretty obvious that EA wants Mass Effect to be on PS3 but also that MS has bought some sort of timed exclusivity, so ultimately it will hit Sony's console

I'd only recommend playing it if you liked KOTOR.  Took all the elements in that and vastly improved it.  It's a lot funner playing as a sentinel (tech/biotic) class though since then you actually have to use strategy.

The game was almost 20 hours without doing any of the side quests unless you purposely rushed through it or played on the easiest difficulty or didn't explore, etc.

I kind of am looking forward to Alpha protocol just to see how it turns out.  The game's RPG mechanics look a little too over the top (leveling up your pistols for a triple kill) but you can tell that they wanted to make an original game from that GTTV interview.  Hopefully it feels fun.

While the hand-to-hand combat in AP looks really good, the dialog trees look really boring.

It has potential tho.
It's Mass Effect staring James Bond, Jason Bourne, or Jack Bauer.
I just noticed their initials.

Obsidian is basically built around coping Bioware and making sequels to Bioware games.

Which is really just fine, given that they out-Bioware Bioware.
