I brought this up in the RE5 thread, thinking it was the game, but this happened today earlier.

The weird thing is it goes off and on. It will do that, but if I wait, it goes back to normal.

Right now, it is normal, as if there was no problem.

I bought new Component cables thinking that was the issue.

No color changes, no pixels, no checkerboards, no green squares. Just that weird effect.

The only time I got weird video stuff was right before my x360 died.  :\

Hopefully this just goes away.

I just played the entirety of the GH Metallica demo with no issues. No obvious OMGWTF graphical errors, no lockups. Just that wonky filter.

It looks like it's in 3D without wearing the glasses.

I got a similar effect but more red and blue posterisation.  It happened a couple of times but I just switched it off and on and it went away.  Haven't had it for months.

Now my Xbox simply doesnt display video at all. Audio comes through, but nothing else beyond that. Something must have fried. Wonder if I can trade it in.

Hmm...I read about this once on gaf.  I think the guy had to replace the xbox because just replacing the video cable didn't fix it and the problem is in the video card outputting.

Sorry :(

Now you can uh...trophy hunt...in the meantime.

That is the exact same image problem before mine broke a month or so ago.  It was error code 74 and apparently the connection to the hard drive was broken or something.  Did you try playing the console without a hard drive?
