I thought the ending was great (almost perfect actually) it had a few problems though.
But most of those flaws are tied mostly to the fact the show had no long-term planning in it's mythology and plot, which is really not as BIG deal as neogaf is making it, since most television never has a long-term plan.

they have done a fantastic job making up the story as they go on. And keeping alot of the answers for the mythology open, was good too, trying to answer everything in full detail might've been to messy for a show that has no long-term plotting. And there's still the 'plan' to wait for, which will most likely fill in some of the details of the mythology.
I also actually liked the fact they made 'GOD' a big part of the show at the end, being religious myself, i thought it was a cool plot device to end it, though i could see some atheists hating the finale because of that. But i argee with karakand, that it came to conveniently, think head six & head baltar having a more consistent presence in this season might've fixed this. (and apparently alot of that was cut).
Another good thing they did for the finale was having the characters come first and the plot second, the send-off for all the characters was just to perfect, i almost cried at the roslin \ adama scene.

The 15'000 years later ending, was pretty cool too, (it was kinda predictable and un-necessary though), but i would've been disappointed if there wasn't a shock ending honestly.

All in all the series is awesome. But I still think B5 is the superior of the 2.
Word, despite how good BSG acting & characters are, it dosen't come close to the EPIC planned-out plot B5 has.
