I think this might be my favorite song of the 60s. . .

It is missing a bitching organ solo, though.  Most other Zombs songs have that covered.

That's a great feel-good song.

still feel shitty. I don't know whether it's the fact that I've quit taking celexa, stopped drinking, or stopped believing I might actually end up with flannel girl (or a PS3-budget version equivalent) but I feel really depressed.

That's a great feel-good song.

It has a nice dark undertone, what with the coming back from prison angle, but it's not really played except for that one line.

The Zombies really are underrated.  I love the mix of psychedelia with thick, Beach Boys-esque vocal harmonies in that particular song, and I also think the production (again, for that song) holds up to what the Beatles and Beach Boys were doing at the time.

All their big singles are great.  Pretty sure they were basically a singles mill band until Odyssey and Oracle.

I rank them high because just about everything they recorded in the day was gold.  Say, The Kinks might have more good material, but they kinda sullied their rep by going on for too long.

It's a good mix of the big psychedelic acts of the time without suffering from the indulgence that plagues the genre, I think.  It's short and jaunty, has nice texture that varies throughout the song, and it has tingly vocal harmonies.  I also fancy that one-line turn on the song more than I probably should.  I could probably listen to it on repeat forever.

Repeated listenability goes a long way.  I can probably rant for like 20 minutes bout why Sister Ray is the greatest song evar but I sure as fuck wouldn't want to listen to it twice in one day.

It's a good song but the basic verse melody is so repetitive/boring. Sounds like something you've heard done before, better. But the chorus transition is great, plus there's this cryptic transition later in the song

but jeez I could find 20 Motown songs that shit on it

Chapter 1.

Everything is awesome--so, very, very, very awesome.

Today, I found a ball of string and played with it for several hours. Afterward I was "petered out" (lol why do they call it that?), so I took a long, rejuvenating nap. When I awoke, my mom prepared a bowl of plain beans with a glass of water, a true epicurean delight. But sometimes I wish I was the bean.

Praise Allah, you're so, very, very, very awesome.

PS burka girl is driving me nuts. I SEE HER EVERYWHERE! Unless those are . . .  other women! Oh, I'm so silly, but  so, very, very, very awesome.

PPS: Jinfash is my favorite cousin; I can't wait until he marries my sister.

Today in class, my English professor gave me a gift. I was so overwhelmed by this jester that I started to cry and heaven, in the processor; I accidentally re-opened my second hole. Damn tit!

>:(

As soon as I got homo, I unwrapped my gift. It was a book! I started to reed it immediately, but I couldn't, however, get past the first page of the boring, hard-to-fellow story about Aaron and some Aardvark. zzzzz  Merriam Webster is a horrible aurthur.

At least I can use this to prop up my anime DVDs.

This thread grants me a perverse sensation of superiority that I've come to be dependent on.  Anytime someone tries to genuinely empathize/help Malek I take it as a threat to both this thread and my own well-being.  I've actually had long PM conversations dissuading people who I've noticed being too helpful.
