Well if anyone wants to send the answer to gaf, ill answer here.

In most cases business cards are outsourced to a printing company.

Staples can do limited black and white, and I mean very limited black and white business cards in-store. For people who order cards and just need some 'in the mean time' we would occationally print a small run on some avery business card sheets for them on the laser copiers, but those are pretty shit. Printing companies use an actual business card stock which is far superior to that do it at home shit.

I do recall business card orders through staples being incredibly affordable, and you can pick them up there, and handle all customer issues with the product with staples copy center as a go-between. ie, if they fuck up you yell at staples, staples yells at them.

It's been almost six-seven months since ive worked for staples and the copy center and how it operates was undergoing changes 'for the better' when I left, so what I am saying has a chance of no longer being true. For example 'HUB' stores, might actually do large business card orders in store. A 'hub' location is a store with a larger copy center meant to handle larger orders from other stores in the region that don't have a copy center capable of handling it AND the regular workload.
