netbook

also i am selling my old laptop with a bunch of accessories for cheaps this weekend

i decided i was going to clear my home of boxes of stuff i never watch/read/play/use anymore, give myself one big purchase, and sock the rest away

it is an HP dv6810us entertainment laptop which i have owned since may of 2008 and have maybe put 40 hrs of use into

15.4" screen, AMD TL-60 dual core processor (2Ghz), 3 gigs ram, 160 GB HDD, Lightscribe DVD drive (which I have used all of once), Geforce 7150m Go (I could run older games from 2004 back on it all right at lower settings), media remote that stores in the pci slot

comes with a 160GB external HDD, wireless mouse, and faux leather carrying case

bought for $650 minus accessories, I am selling for $360 shipped to any US door

i'll tell you why i'm selling it right here:

because it can't play fallout 3 or left 4 dead.

it's a good laptop, it's just not for games made past 2004

older stuff like the first CoD, MoH, those games run fine at 1024x768

so, basically i just played around on the internet and took it to my folks' house to scan in old pictures

i didn't know what i was looking for when i bought it, and it was on sale for $650

FarCry is still a tech demo, except not impressive anymore. Both FC2 and Crysis and leagues better than it.

I'll probably start Dark Messiah next. I would play the IL-2 something WW2 flight game if I could find my old flight stick.

Bought the same thing even though I have BG&E on GC and FC. I'd always kind of wanted to try Dark Messiah, and $10 for it + others is good.

basically they have taken a rise of legends styled RTS (crazy units, lots of active and passive unit abilities, fixed upgradable resource points) and fused it with a CCG and added some MMO trappings. It's magnificent.

I popped into EB over the weekend and saw that they finally had the Street Fighter Mad Catz pads in stock. So I grabbed one and bought it, without looking too closely at it. Turns out I grabbed a PS3 controller when I needed a 360 one. That's what I get for not paying attention. $:-\$

In my defence, it was in with the rest of the 360 controllers. Hopefully they'll have the one I want in stock when I go back this week.

They never go on sale, dude. You might see some bundle deals during the holidays, but that's about it.
