People, especially X-Files people, should check this out. I mention it often to friends and it seems like few have ever seen it. In my opinion, it's a better X-Files movie than either of the actual X-Files movies, which isn't saying a lot, but it's good, and in the same vein as the TV show, at least.

I just watched it again since I've been going through X-Files lately, and it still holds up well, and it like, could have very easily been rewritten into an X-Files movie with some character swapping.

Maybe if I don't wear my glasses and squint I can pretend he's David Duchovny.

He's not offensive or anything. He does come across as kinda flat in a Duchovnian sense. Either way, he doesn't do anything too bad, aside from shove a kitten in his ass, and anyone that has spent time in Uncle Jarosh's Play Shack has seen that a few times.

I have a distaste for Richard Gere, but I thought this movie was good too. It's been a few years since I've seen it, I should watch it again.

it's no The Night Stalker, but it's pretty good for Reporters Exploring Unnamed Phenomena.

the actual legend of the Mothman always freaked me out as a kid.

I bought it on DVD recently but haven't seen it for years. I remember liking it except the very end. Really the end was fine but the main character's choice at the very end was a SMH moment for me at the time.

I should watch it today.

Thankfully it probably wasn't too high budget

50 mins in and it's pretty cool so far. Great atmosphere.

Really can't imagine why, it's quite well made. Few if any clunky bits, it's like a good Nicholas Cage movie.

I recall it being fairly well-received, but I can understand if reviews weren't ejaculatory. The ending isn't so satisfying, and there are other issues, but the atmosphere is thick, and it is very X-Files, ev.

No, I just had never seen it and I was pretty young when it came out and remembered hearing bad things. It might've been purely anecdotal though, not from the critics.

When I had HBO I watched this... decent film, not spectacular or anything. Does feel like an X-Files episode.
