- the director for EoE worked on VP2 (director), Vagrant Story and Final Fantasy Tactics (Battle Planner in both)
- the battle system is like VP2 (at least the basics), except with guns. You move=enemies move, you stay still=enemies don't move etc.. etc..
- the whole game will take place in Bazel, the big tower is just one part of Bazel.
- field movement is done by using hexagonal grids, battles are random while on the field. In dungeons, battles are seamless.

It seems pretty different from their usual stuff. It doesn't even look to me like Sakuraba is going to compose for this.

Tri-Ace can go suck a fuck after making Yaoi Ocean 4. Bayonetta looks amazing. It's the only game besides Diablo 3 I care about anymore.

Since Masaki Norimoto (SO1-3/VP1-2 game system designer, VP1 scenario writer) was only credited as a supervisor for SO4, I wonder if he's on this.

Except it's Sega not Square Enix.

Recursive: the battle programmer for SO2, SO3, VP1 and VP2; wasn't involved with SO4. So maybe he was working on this? I hope so. I don't understand why the battle programming for SO4 was outsourced.

Tri Ace has the worst character designers in the industry.

tri-Ace usually outsources their character design (to various manga and anime designers/illustrators), though.

Tri-ace should go back to their old output of games because apparently uping the # of games only mangifies their flaws 100-fold.

Awesome, except for the Sakuraba part (he's the one behind the godlike VP soundtracks, right?)

Yeah he did the music for nearly all tri-Ace games, except Radiata.

About his involvement with this new project, that was just me speculating.

their last 2 console games consist of a tiny tri-Ace unit of about 30-40 people, with the rest being 'external experts'.

Bloody hell! It is a JRPG though, so I consider this a step in the right direction.

?? The characters are upper teens just like most recent FF games.  I think FF13 and Versus leads are early 20s actually.

Why are people so threatened by having little kids join your party in an RPG? Were you all bitching when Palom and Porom joined in FF4?
