i got fired on wednesday for refusing to pay my boss $28.25's to recover the amount from a missing check and by poining out the fact that what he's asking was not only illegal, but a form of blackmail.

though... as i was walking out, he rehired me but he stripped me of my managerial position but i'll be receiving the same pay.

Apparently.  Like I said, every other inventory observation I have attended, jeans have been fine.  I guess this audit client didn't like it. And the client stranded my coworker and I in North Carolina (their corporate jet had to get repairs and it couldn't be flown back to Georgia).  We had to buy a ticket back to Atlanta then drive back home and that cost me $410 (which I'll get reimbursed, but not for another 2 weeks).  It's a bunch of bullshit and I think there was an overreaction, but there is nothing I can do.

I plan to lay low and not talk to anyone.  I'm gonna start studying for the CPA exam and hopefully I'll have my license by the end of the year and I will be able to find a better job.

i just found out today that i was basically demoted to save the ass of both the executive director and his colleague. they ordered more then they should've without consulting me first and we simply don't have the money to pay the bills so they take the one thing they could use against me. i guess they kept my pay to same because they felt guilty.

Updated thread title to reflect current events.  Apparently one of the audit clients that bitched about my jeans also bitched that I said something behind her back about talking too much.  She got that info second hand and I don't recall that.  Basically, I got thrown under the bus.

Then the audit partners called me in and put me on probation and said they were going to make a list of items for me to improve on.  We've been at odds about my haircut and I mentioned that might be a sticking point.  My partner called me in and fired me.  Kinda ironic because I was one of the best workers, too.  The partners even admitted it.

Kinda sucks and I'm down right now, but I'm studying for the CPA exam.  This might work out for the best.
