Right now I'm working on the brain and for some reason the brain is driving me crazy. Tips on how I should handle the brain?

I'm thinking of just making outside nothing but black outlines but I dunno. A gradient would look cool. Does anyone have any good reference pics of cartoon brains?

Well the local library is having a thing on critical thinking and I figured, why not have a cheery animu black guy have a brain pop out of his head and a comic bubble say "critical thinking!" from the brain. But I'm having trouble with how I want the brain to look.

Better. I still think a purple tone would look good in it. Also it needs some kind of outline between the brain and the face. Try to make the line so that it looks like the skull has dimension.

Testing.

Illustrator combined with Photoshop is my favorite program ever probably. Thanks Jinfash for coming up with that brain template. I drew the brain and the outlines in illustrator and pained the lighting on the brain with the airbrush in photoshop.

Rockin'. Should finish this tomorrow I guess. I just notice a few things I have to fix like the right ear.

Hmmm.. sadly Demi is right. Since it involves work i.e. livelihood I'll try and help you out.
1) His head is facing straight on, while his body is to a side. The fact of the matter is does he even need a body?
2) Eyes are a bit too big, if anything you should exaggerate the brain and make that cartoonish ie bulging out his skull.
3) If you decide not to have a body tilt his head to create interest.
4) Lines underneath the eyes need to be more subtle
5) Font\s (this in itself is a mistake himu) are hideous. Get rid of the speech bubble and make it a heading.

Is it a poster, a graphic etc?
