Better than I expected. Looks like Bioshock, but better and controls seems to be more responsive as far as I can judge from that video. Promising.

Seems faster than Bioshock 1 but my memory might be wrong.  The drill is definitely a cooler melee weapon than the wrench though.

I honestly thought that Bioshock was a miserably crappy shooter. In many ways a remarkable game, but the shooting aspect felt poorly designed. I'm going to try and avoid making too many assumptions based on this footage, but it looks like a better shooter.

Bioshock's combat elements were mediocre by modern standards but fighting Big Daddies was supercool.

The first one did have pretty big highs and lows with combat.  I think the biggest noticable improvement in this vid is that you can have both hands out at once.  Hopefully they show a much more thorough demonstration soon though.

Looks great. Makes me want to go through Bioshock once I finish RE5 professional.

Why would you say that?

Bioshock 2 has a pretty good chance of greatly exceeding the original, if you ask me.  Jordan Thomas, the creative director on Bioshock 2, was the guy who basically designed both The Cradle in Thief III and Sander Cohen's area in Bioshock.  I think Bioshock 2 has the opportunity to be quite a bit more atmospheric as a result.  The first part of that Bioshock 2 footage suggests that somewhat, though the second bit is very similar to the first.  We'll see, though, I think it could be incredible.

Maybe Ken Levine is more of a Jaffe than a Mikami. I'm excited for Bioshock 2, even though it definitely falls into the not necessary bin.
