Holy shit, is this Dragon Ball movie baadddd. Like, doesn't make sense bad, like, what the fuck bad.

The acting, the action, everything. There was money here to make something much better, but the lack of creativity is just amazing. Michael Bay made giant robots work, this was a piece of cake in comparison, i don't understand.

Fox sucks.

But they were. It's pretty much a fantasy martial arts version of Superman.

As far as the kind of target audience it has, it's awesome, and it was a phenomenon back then, the success it achieved. Maybe you didn't like it, but hey.

fuck dragon ball z

i remember rushing home after school to catch the latest episode only to find out that nothing really happened in an entire fucking episode. remember when that planet that freeza and goku were fighting on was about to blow up in, what, 15 minutes? god knows how many episodes it took for that damn planet to actually explode.

i eventually stopped watching.

Agreed.

I had a lot of nostalgia for the series so I bought the first three seasons. What a mistake that was. The fighting is so drawn-out and boring that you actually look forward to the filler.

I wish Funimation would release the original series on DVD, and not at a rip-off price like the One Piece DVDs.

dont think so. When I saw the trailer it was all Fast and the Furious yellow cars and asian chicks in leather suits with guns. Just like the cartoon!

haha, i started trying to watch the show right when that part started. after two or three boring epidsodes where the planet did not explode, i told myself that i would stick with it just to see what happened. i think i watched for a full two weeks and the planet had STILL NOT EXPLODED. i mean they would start an episode with "JUST FIFTEEN SECONDS TILL IT BLOWS UP" and by the end they'd be like "JUST FIVE SECONDS TILL IT BLOWS UP" and then it still wouldn't blow up next episode. awful, awful show

Actually, shit like that is why I'm kind of excited for the DBZ remake.

DBZ is actually really good for the first two seasons which have Dragonball like pace and humor. Season 3, however, is nothing but the freeza fight. That's when it goes to poop.

that's because it caught up to the manga at that point and they needed to stall like crazy. That's why they're releasing Dragon Ball Kai now; Dragon Ball Z re-edited to have proper pacing knowing how things ahead of time.

It's a big ass action movie about giant robots. It rocked, in ways it wasn't even supposed to, i mean, transformers? They suck ass, Bay did the impossible.

Its also unforgivably long, has really terrible plotting, plenty of terrible dialog, and is kinda racist.

Really nice special effects, but they're saddled with typical Micheal-Bay-esque inscrutable action scenes. If it weren't for John Tuturro hamming it up Transformers would have been no fun at all.

Re-editing to follow the manga by itself is probably gonna make me watch most of Kai. After reading the manga, I'm amazed by how much faster it progresses. Yeah, Namek still takes unreasonably longer than 5 minutes to blow up, but in the manga it seems more like 15-25 minutes, rather than the half a day it seemed to take in the show.

It takes like two or three issues for Nappa and Vegeta to reach Earth instead of like 10 episodes, and the first trip to Namek is like, one issue. Toriyama doesn't kid around with that filler shit, just plain old, "Well they decided to wait/go on a trip, so now it's X days/weeks/months/years later and they're there."

Megan Fox's taught, lightly-furred abdomen made me a fan of Transformers. The blu-ray could just be a loop of that, and some explosions, and I'd be happy.
