It's out, anyone play it yet?

Gamestop broke the street date last week, so Stardock has now begun selling it online.

I'm not a huge DotA fan so I'm passing on this initially unless the reviews are really good.

As spokesperson for this game let me just remind you that PC gaming in fact sucks and everyone involved should kill themselves

I was tempted to pick this up last Friday, but I've only seen one review so far. The occlusion of a single player experience is a bit disappointing though

LOL Stardock owned.

They release all their games without DRM.

Demigod launches, and no one can play it.

They made the backend able to handle about 50,000 players. There are roughly 18,000 paying players trying to connect to the online servers (the game is ONLINE ONLY). The problem is the 100,000 pirated copies are trying to connect to, which makes the game unplayable.

Welcome to last week?  Because that's where those numbers are from.  I haven't tried to play online yet, but they have issued at least one patch about this.

What TVC said. You're a week late buddy. I've been playing it online just fine since I bought it Friday night.

When are you free, FatalT?  Play with me sometime.  Teach me how am to do the things.  Warcock showed me how to play dota once, but it was really just a front so he could cyber with me.

Haha, I'm free anytime. I've got a friend I bought it for who I'm going to play with later tonight but he's busy right now. We transitioned from DotA to Demigod but DotA is still a good game to play too, just more complex. IM me whenever you wanna play!

Will do.  I'm probably going to try and Dynasty Warriors it up tonight, but if I somehow get bored I will message you.

I wish there were more than freakin 8 characters though.

I completely agree. Unlike DotA though, all 8 characters feel different. I guess when you get up to 90+ characters you're going to have some that play the same though, heh. I think Demigod's skill system allows for more customization than DotA too, since most characters are almost 2 in 1. Torchbearer and Queen of Thorns, for example, have 2 different forms and 2 different trees for skills to use in those forms. I'm trying to get better with using Queen of Thorns' closed form because it's almost the ultimate support class since you can throw your bramble shield onto an ally if they're getting mega ganked.
