It's like Tri-ace got tired of fooling everyone with their bullshots and are just playing it straight this time. Either that or the actually game will look like a DS title if these are the bullshots.

real talk: I'm guessing their budget is a hell of a lot lower than MS and Square Enix gave them for IU/SO4. This is probably a pretty low budget project, hence the PS2-ish look.

I dunno, I actually think it looks quite a bit nicer than their other two games. :\ The art direction isn't great, I suppose, but the level of detail seems nice. They finally seem to have broken away from the giant, repeating texture flat surfaces and jaggy shaders with this one. Visually, it reminds me of a more detailed Dark Sector (I hated the game, but it looked nice enough).

I mean (different scenery, I know, but still)...

Also, fool me once. These screens are probably cleaner than what we'll see in game. Hopefully the drop in some of the other graphical qualities means we'll be getting a 720p game that isn't blurry.

Lighting looks flat, the environments look muddy and don't looks as cohesive as SO4 but that could be due to the vastly different art style. The battle image looks good though.

Town shot:
-Awful depth of field effect
-Low-poly environments like SO4
-Washed out, bad art color scheme
-No lighting
-Average textures

1st Battle shot:
-Really bad monster modeling. Polygon-wise looks bleh, textures look awful, art design looks awful

2nd Battle shot:
-Best looking of the bunch. Character looks low-poly, but otherwise about on par with SO4.
