Why does Dawn of War 2 have boss battles?

This game is fun until you get to the end-level bosses. Who thought this was a good idea?

Yeah they suck. Just wait until you play on Primarch difficulty. You pretty much have to hit-and-run on the bosses, chipping away at their health very slowly

Definitely an odd decision. I suppose they wanted to go all the way with the whole action-RPG/RTS hybrid thing, but it doesn't fit in. I haven't played it in a while, but all the boss fights so far have been anything but tactical affairs.

I'm tempted to grab a trainer for these boss battles.

Other than that, the game is pretty cool. I like that it takes the idea from COH of holding onto a few squads of dudes and keeping them alive instead of just creating new ones and creates a game around it. A lot of fun.

Alot of rts vets were jaded by the simplicity of the multiplayer, but I happen to like it. As someone who is usually overwhelmed in rts multi, I can actually hold my own in games and I have a 20-24 record. Plus the games are quick enough that you are encouraged to experiment with different units combinations and strategies. I like the multiplayer alot

I still haven't tried co-op out yet. i wish there were a way to random match in co-op, but instead you can only play with people on your friends list  :'(

Having not played DoW2, I like the idea of big boss fights in an RTS to give them more variety.  That being said, I don't like the idea of an rts boss fight where you have to hit and run all day until it goes down.  There's got to be some way to do boss fights well in an rts?
