If they released Shenmue with no loading, pop-in, or slowdown and with the Japanese voice track, I would spend money on that.

And yeah, JSRA would be so awesome.

I would love to see PD Saga on there, but apparently they lost the source code and I don't really trust Sega with remaking it.

Segagaga will never ever be released in English or on XBLA service.  Better chance at Shenmue 3 coming out than that.

and Dynamite Cop on XBLA with online co-op would be awesome.

Cannon Spike too while they're at it

As much as I like it, I don't see any reason to re-release it. They should just make a new one.

Sega seems incapable of releasing anything post-Genesis on the Big Boy systems and it makes me sad

Someone port that Model 2 emulator to Xbox 360, it -almost- worked okay on PS2  >:(

Apparently, they lost the source code to Panzer Dragoon Saga, the System 24 arcade games (I think), and the arcade version of House of the Dead 1.

Its not that you can't emulate the Saturn, its just that it would be considerably more difficult then getting an N64 or PS1 emu up and running due to its 'unique' hardware.  Developing one hasn't been worth Sega's time yet and I don't know if it ever will be.

The best bet would be to remake them, however, the results aren't perfect (see the Nights PS2 port)  It's a decent up port, but I doesn't feel like the original at times.

The Sega Ages remakes were pretty well done as well.  I really would kill for Dynamite Deka XBLA.

If I recall correctly, it was a pretty crappy port.  And also emulating a 2D Saturn game would be worlds different from a 3D one.  And as Rman pointed out, all the Sega Ages games are from the ground up remakes, how is that easier?

I know that Gametap has emulated Saturn games. I don't have Gametap myself, but apparently, they emulated the Saturn versions of Bug! and Panzer Dragoon 1 instead of using the PC versions. It has the Saturn startup screen and all that.

It's not like anyone can even make heads or tails of that old code anyway. It's just a mess of undocumented assembler code for equally undocumented hardware with weird opcodes.

Give it to the emu ninjas!

So, beat the game and get an easy 200 points, eh?  Kind of a shame, they could have done some really interesting things for achievements.  At least give us a no-death run, or beat a level only using melee!

yeah, very disappointed with the Gunstar achieves. Considering theyve included sub-bosses as achievements why not one for the fuck amazing MELON BREAD. Will still buy at 400 points (even though Ive got the fucking cartridge and legit ROM on VC, its just such a good game) online co-op should be hot

And wtf with the rest of this shit, its all on the Genesis collection. I wouldve bought Comix Zone by itself if they hadnt included it on that disc! Fucken Sega

You know what would really be sweet? Shenmue 1 & 2 HD double pack for 360 with 1000 gamerscore per game. Would be fucking amazing

XBox Live needs some more old classic Genesis games. Not by Sega, but Desert Strike, Road Rash, would be awesome.

Haha, I think the cunts that price XBLA figured they were actually raping people for 1200 points with a lot of software. Some decent 800pt stuff has been delivered lately (Outruuuuun)

Im just assuming Gunstar Heroes and these other games are part of the Sega Classics Backbone ports (see also Streets of Rage 2, Sonic 1 & 2) which were all priced at 400pts. It would be stupid to charge more. IMO the games that are already on the fucking collection disc should be 200 spacebucks or less. I would buy Altered Beast for 100pts for those 'zany' achievements

I don't have an issue with paying for value, but I really get bent seeing a port come in at 1200 spacebooox. Original titles are easier for me to comprehend having a higher price tag. Original title for US$15? That's pretty freaking cool. US$15 for a single title that was already part of a six title collection... LAST generation...? I'm an Achievement whore, but that's where I'll draw the line.

I almost bought the Watchmen game for it, but the combo system wasn't doing it for me, and the game didn't resonate with the comic for me. After I see the movie, I will replay the demo and re-evaluate.

This Summer, you will be able to individually download 7 classics from SEGA's archive!

New Features Include:

Re-worked for High-Definition
Online Leaderboards
Network Play (Excludes Phantasy Star II, Shinobi, Comix Zone)

Gunstar Heroes (XBLA & PSN) – The classic side scrolling shooter from the SEGA Genesis returns to captivate fans new and old with its non-stop action and cooperative play.

Altered Beast (XBLA) – "Rise from your Grave" as the original Genesis launch game is reborn and comes to a new generation of gamers. Battle hordes of undead warriors and monsters as you return to battle in order to save Zeus' daughter Athena.

Shinobi (arcade) (XBLA) – Battle your way through the "Ring of Five" as you save hostages with your ninja abilities.

Comix Zone (XBLA) – The game features an innovative art style that transports players directly into the panels of a comic as they fight their way to save a world from destruction as Sketch Turner. Everything from the speech bubble text, level design, and the revolutionary graphics scream COMIX!

Phantasy Star 2 (XBLA) – SEGA's classic RPG which expanded on the success of the first with its epic storyline and battle system.

Sonic the Hedgehog 3 (XBLA) – The game that introduced Knuckles the Echidna comes to a new generation of gamers as Sonic explores Angel Island and discovers the true power of the Master Emerald. Speed through each level at lightning speeds as either Sonic or Tails as you foil Dr. Eggman’s in his new Death Egg station.

And Coming late Summer 2009!

Sonic and Knuckles (XBLA) – Picking up where Sonic the Hedgehog 3 left off, players can now play as Knuckles for the first time. In addition, if players already have Sonic the Hedgehog 3 or Sonic 2 in their library, they will be able to access the lock-on bonus content for each game for the very first time since the days of the SEGA GENESIS! This allows for gamers to play Sonic 2 & 3 as Knuckles!
