it's certainly one of the great.

the mix of genre many other outside sources is still pretty much unmatched outside of stuff like Atari Teenage Riot and the like.

I'm listening to Think About Life's Family. I am about to crank out my review of it. it's probably the best pop album I've heard since Lilly Allen's Alright Still.

been doing some searching for good prog metal and i found the band Redemption. Been listening to their album Snowfall on Judgment Day which is pretty good.

i also got some stuff from the band Transatlantic. their album The Whirlwind is only 77 minute song that i'll be listening to later today. looking forward to it.

Lulz, Refused, they are from my neck of the woods. I hung out a few times with Dennis, once after some show in Umeå where Teddybears rocked the house, I think it was right at the dawn of Re-Fused. Although I was more into metal at the time. I think I liked his really old band more, for the pure dirt punk value.

Lots of recognizable samples are used but she makes them her own. Many tracks also run longer than needed; seems like an album created with live shows in mind

Short and disappointing, but there are some bangers here regardless. They should have told Def Jam to fuck off and did something independent, instead of having to rush out what is essentially a 30 minute EP/mixtape.

Sort of unrelated, but I was this close to picking up some 4 dollar LP instrumentals by Madlib the other day at my record store. There were like 5 of them and I forget what they were called...but I think genghis was talking some of them up a couple weeks ago.

I don't think they were any of the beat konducta stuff. Should've gotten them :'(

I hate going to a record store when I don't have anything in particular in mind to buy. It's either I get nothing or I get too much and feel like shit regardless

God damn this Joanna Newsom album is easily becoming my aoty so far. A consistently good triple album full of amazing melodies and bloated but great songs. Seriously, it's full of songs longer than 6 minutes but for the most part remains strong.

For me, the songs are good enough to keep me interested, although I still haven't listened to all the songs lol. I only have problems with songs that are inflated by minutes of static or feedback or whatever, ala Mars Volta and (some) Tool.

Some songs could use a producer reigning her in, but even then the melodies carry them. Good Intentions Paving Company could be a 4 minute radio song if you cut some of the bridge in the middle.
