Give the paradise collection a spin. I think it's much better than born in how its matched the songs together and it includes the songs from the first album in a new arrangement.

A friend at work and I were talking music the other night and he recommended this to me:

I can't listen to bluegrass music all the time but I do find it to be pretty good stuff generally as long as it doesn't have too much of a modern country music to it. This guy is pretty good though.

My problem with music over the last few years is that the mainstream stuff really sucks. Is it just me, or have mainstream musicians really forgotten how to make music? I hear stuff on the radio (when I have the stomach to sit through it for more than a few minutes) and I think to myself, "I was making tracks like this when I used to get drunk and find my friends keyboards as a kid."

Spent the evening discovering Joyce Manor. Holy crap, these guys are good! I don't like their latest album as much as their first 2 cds, but it's still solid. The first two albums are AWESOME though. Great energy.

People in the comments sections of Burial vids always get reaaaally pretentious trying to describe his music. Thought it was fascinating to see how much better the dude himself is at verbalizing the moods his music is supposed to evoke.

Yeah its one of those things you don't try to explain, you're personal experience will pale in comparison to the track itself where I relate to my own experiences. Once in a while you know the feels though.

...found her through spotify which is a damned good similar artist system. Better then Last.fm and much better than Zune / Xbox Music whatever.

The new Local Natives is out right now in several fashions. The iTunes stream is playing at my office right now. I really disliked their first album but this new one is taking to me much much more. They've got pretty much the best aspects of Grizzy Bear and Fleet Foxes together and made a sound very distinctly their own. It's pretty great so far.
