These guys are my new shit. Stones, Bowie, ELO, and T-Rex all in one. They're fucking great.
Listening to this a bit more, this list should be way, way longer. The Kinks penetrate every song on this album in some manner or another, Syd Barrett, Reed and Dylan (the organ on No Destruction, coupled with the vocal inflection in the verse which I swear is lifted directly from something on the Basement Tapes), the Beatles (the chorus of San Francisco is lifted from "Only a Northern Song"), the Zombies, and a bit of Gun Club/Cramps on the title track.
There's absolutely nothing original about the sound of this record. They've deftly applied so many influences
simultaneously that it's easy to forgive, but they're essentially Jet with a dumber band name.
