I don't know much about Daft Punk or electronic music in general, but Giorgio by Moroder is fucking amazing imo. I can't stop listening to it.

I think Touch is the best song, although I wish there was more singing on it; the melody is so great. Overall it's a mixed album to me. The first two tracks are somewhat forgettable - the first track feels almost generic, like Studio 54 elevator music, and the vocals are forgettable. The Game of Love and Within both don't work to me either; Daft Punk has done downtempo stuff well before (Something About Us) both these just don't have a compelling sound to me, and just drone on.

Giorgio by Moroder is good, and I like Instant Crush. Lose Yourself To Dance SHOULD be the best song on the album, and one of the best of the year; the melody, the guitar, that amazing bass...but I just don't like Pharrell's singing. He sounds like some guy with a nice but limited voice doing karaoke. Same problem I have with Get Lucky. Not saying they're bad songs, they're just frustrating because you can tell a better singer (preferably female) would turn them into truly great songs.

I don't get the love for Contact. It has such a big build up but when you think you get to the climax there's...nothing. It's like the middle of a 70s prog rock song, except it ends instead of exploding into some jam.

The production on this song is such an utter step down from anything on the Archandroid and I'm not sure how anyone who liked that album could find this song great. It's solid though the lyrics are what push it ahead of the pack moreso than the singing.

I like Queen but the production does sound rather meh when compared to her previous album; that riff just isn't doing it for me. Lyrically it's odd, with the "shade" line among other things. Still I like the song and it definitely reaches a higher height when Badu shows up.

It's not a song I see myself listening to much when the album drops though, whereas I still listen to her last album's singles (outside of Cold War)

I like it as well. But it sounds too conventional for Janelle. Which I guess is the point considering Archandroid didn't do as well as hoped. I do like the bass guitar in QUEEN.

Savages are the latest inexplicably hyped to death by the indiefuck press thing, but they sound kinda Banshees-ish and post punky so I kinda like 'em anyway. Hope they end up having a Juju/Kaleidoscope in them but they could always pull an Interpol and go to complete shit from their second album onwards. Seriously, what the fuck Interpol? Spun Sonic Youth's Daydream nation the other day and naturally it's still pretty awesome. A shame Thurston ran off with some other woman apparently and now SY is no more. Pysched as fuck for The National's new one next week. Nobody will read any of this.
