Quick Thoughts:
The front half of the album is clearly stronger than the latter half.
Dreams Come True is a hell of a start to the album, from the first beat an uncontrollable smile broke out onto my face and I didn't care who saw it while on the T this morning. In keeping with the happy-go-lucky theme, the highlight for me is (and has been, it seems)
Still Want You. Whenever I'm fretting about something and spinning a big ball of stress, I listen to that track and it calms me down every single time.
I Can Change isn't that strong a song, but its chorus packs a damn fine punch.
Apparently it samples quite heavily from the 1984 "gay anthem" Smalltown Boy, but I don't hold it against the song like that Verge writer does.
Can't Deny My Love is a good single and a fun song in its own right, but lacks a special something that keeps it from my favorite The Killers/Brandon Flowers singles.
Lonely Town is similar, the dark humor in juxtaposing the earnest music and performance with such obviously creepy lyrics is fun enough the first couple lyrics but there's not much substance there for multi-dozen listens.
I haven't listened to much of the rest enough to form an opinion other than it seeming (for now) pretty samey.
Diggin' Up the Heart gets big points for its absolutely absurd lyrics and frenetic style. Otherwise, yeah, need to listen to them more.
Overall the album gets a big

from me and I feel it's superior in every way to Flowers' previous solo album, Flamingo.
