I dunno, I kind of view high local taxes in places like NYC as an "awesomeness" surcharge.  Sure you could live somewhere that doesn't have taxes like that, but odds are it would probably suck nuts.

Yeah man, my wife is getting some inheritance from her grandpa but we aren't gonna get cash because they'd tax like 46% of it.  Crazy.     So we're putting it in an ira.
