Consider the source. Is this getting picked up everywhere, or is it just Faux News there giving it a lot of heat? Fox likes to get people all heated up over small crap, and a beauty queen saying something dumb is not news. Judges grading someone poorly over a dumb response is not news.
Fox is putting all of this down to religious discrimination, or more accurately Christian discrimination, since they're also referencing the Mormon theater manager who stepped down because of a gay organized boycott due to his contributions to pass Prop 8. Here's a flash: privately organized movements to influence someone's behavior, to make a point, are much more up front, and fundamentally acceptably American in their nature than trying to get laws passed to limit the behavior of a group of which one does not approve.
I'm pretty sure I could phrase that better if I weren't so fucking pissed off at this horseshittery that Fox is engaging in. There is no War on Christmas. There is no sweeping, left-wing agenda to turn all the christian boys and girls into bisexual cock-gobblers with free abortions every third Thursday of the month. It took 8 years of the worst management in the country's history for the moderates and liberals to come together enough to win a fucking election.
Fox would have taken the other side if the girl had insisted in coming out in a habeeb. This isn't about freedom of religion, it's about pandering to the worst fears of a group that already gets off on being martyred.
