My mom only bought fried chicken under the most dire of circumstances - say if she was sick, injured, or extremely tired after work. Under normal circumstances the mere idea of buying fried chicken is foreign to her and all the females in my family. Almost all of them make fried chicken that's superior to KFC/Popeyes/etc

She rarely cooks fried stuff tho

The food tends to be greasy as shit though.

Since I'm from Texas, basically every single item on our meals has some form of meat in it. I used to like that but now it disgusts me. =/

It's in the ghetto though. Not that it matters because third ward (where it's located) isn't too bad. In fact, they've really gotten better the past few years. It almost looks like a white neighborhood.

Louisiana has some shitty ass restaurants, btw. I remember I went to this place called Mother's in New Orleans. All of the employees were ghetto as fuck, and you had to go and pour your own fucking orange juice because they were too lazy to do it for you.

There are many, many terrible restaurants in New Orleans. If you are anywhere near the Quarter, you really don't have to try too hard.

I'm not a huge fan of creole food...they put tomato paste in everything. (Good) Cajun food is spicier and prepared with less tomato (and to most extents okra).
