Wouldn't that cause more blur on the PSP screen?

I don't play enough games on my PSP to know.

Should be.  T5DR was.

SG, the new screens found in the 2000 models and above have minimized the ghosting issues.  It's still there, but not as pronounced.

Has to be. 30fps just wouldn't work for these games!

Yeah, the last 30fps Namco fighter was Soul Blade on the PSone.

That's pretty insane looking.  Based on Namco's other PSP efforts you know these will be 60 fps as well.

Nope.  30 fps looks much worse.

Of course, the PSP3000 (which, unfortunately, doesn't allow homebrew) has a MUCH MUCH MUCH faster screen (more in line with your typical PC display).  The first couple PSP models had a ridiculously slow screen.

The 2000 really isn't improved.  The 3000 is the first model to finally catch up with modern LCDs (much much faster with a much better contrast ratio).  I can't even use my 1000 model anymore.  :\

The homebrew community were unable to hack the PSP-3000 because it had a new CPU (motherboard revealed to be TA-90v2) which does not support the PRE IPL Exploit used in hacking the previous versions. MaTiaZ, a known hacker in the PSP hacking community found an exploit which is done with a US copy Gripshift and a HEN save game exploit. However, this was only temporary. After the release of this initial hack, a sizable increase in sales of the game was experienced. Many eBay sellers inflated their prices to cash in on the sudden demand. A revised version of the PSP firmware (v5.03) was released shortly after to patch the exploit. [17] Now, there is a TIFF exploit which is proven to work on PSP-3000 from the homebrew developer called MaTiaZ which is shown to work on the 5.02 PSP-3000. It also works on 5.03 firmware for PSP Slim & Lite and the original PSP. [18]

http://www.psp-hacks.com/2009/04/15/firmware-503-tiff-exploit-now-on-slim-and-fat-models-and-the-psp-3000/

seems so.

I hope they don't hack it.  IMO the reason we are seeing this resurgence of psp software is because the PSP-3000, which is unhackable, has been selling BOATLOADS for 6 months+ now, which means a lot of users buying legit software and those software sales are driving the announcement of these new games.

Once the 3000 gets hacked again and everyone goes back to pirating, I see game announcements disappearing again.  :(

I wouldn't need to hack my PSP if Sony would come up with a tool that lets you rip the UMD to a memory card.  Maybe they could come up with some kinda DRM to allow such a tool to happen.

Loading off a card is just so much faster and far more battery efficient.

Seriously.  They really need to come up with a solution which would allow us to run UMDs from a memory stick.  The improved performance and battery life makes a tremendous difference.  Unfortunately, UMD is very slow and installation would require a lot of time.  FF - Dissidia actually offers an install which pretty much killed any load times, but the installation time was EXTREMELY long (well over an hour).

The two features of CFW that I want on the PSP are fairly reasonable for Sony to do.  They are already doing half of it by having a shift towards digital distribution / letting me store games on the memory stick.  The other is letting me increase the clock speed to 333mhz to make games run better.  They could even sugarcoat that feature by calling it "enhanced game performance."  I can live without emulators on the thing, even if it is nice to play any PS1 game on it without trouble.

I agree that they should go straight to PSP2.  Even judging from the recent rumors it seems like the new device is going to be one giant clusterfuck and I would be blown away if Sony manages to pull it off.

Infact, screw this PSP revival and rumoured PSP-4000, just jump to PSP2. Let's just have PSP2 , solid state, PSP1 b/c via downloads, but PSP2 specific games. Please use also provide two nubs plz, oh - and leave the homebrew gate open if pos :D

As I said before, if it has an iTunes like store with appropriate pricing it would be my favourite machine ever. UMDs are just so cumbersome, and memory stick loading is awesome.

Plus sony has the media content to back it up.

PSP + internal storage + content store =  :drool

Best round-a-bout troll ever

GT : real torque, no slomo.

i really wonder what is going on with Polyphony and Team Ico...

Especially after that "Ken Kutaragi dragged us into the office, we got GTPrologue done so quick!" story, you'd think we were close to some sort of real GT games :/

PSP2 - what if... PSP1 , PS1 , PS2 B/C? :O :O :O
i'd need adult diapers.

That's what happens when jesus Kutaragi is no longer there.  Ever since Kutaragi left Sony Japan has been in shambles.  There is no one there to lead them like jesus Kutaragi.

LOL and also who plays PORTABLES IN TOURNAMENTS?   :lol  If it's as good as SC4, and there seems to be no reason why it won't be, I'll be happy as shit.  If the game lacks the Star Wars characters, it will also automaticaly be the best version of SC4 available.   :P

The Magic-Box is saying that Soul Calibur is going to have adhoc and online play.

Mistake, or has this been confirmed?  Holy shit if true.
