PC Mice recommendations?
« on: April 29, 2009, 06:45:13 PM »
My work PC mouse is on its last legs and I wanted to know if you guys have any recommendations.  My company will just let me expense it; they really don't care about the price.

Logitech's LX3. This mouse rocks. No unnecessary side buttons, decent dpi, and a nice shape.

$23 for a sexy black/blue one on Amazon. http://www.amazon.com/Logitech-LX3-Optical-Mouse-Blue-Special/dp/B000GCARGO/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1241042846&sr=8-1

$30 for a regular black/gray one at Best Buy. http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=7843881&st=Logitech+LX3&lp=1&type=product&cp=1&id=1142298457355

I've been using a MX518. Plus Logitech's customer service is fucking ace. The first one that I purchased had a slightly sticky left button, so I called customer service and they sent me a brand new one within a week.

I can't ever see spending more than $50 at most on a mouse, given the way I treat them, but damn that Mamba looks cool.

Do they still make these?

Yes, USB ball mice pretty much come standard with the machines Dell sells refurbished.

This topic may have been done to death, but who were the first nerds? I was reading a Wired article about fans of Sherlock Holmes that used to write fan-fiction back in the late 1800's. I think they would even gather at social parties and exchange stories.
