Rachel Nichols is super hot.  She's the only reason I watched P2, a by the books slasher flick.

That rack has to be fake though.  She couldn't possibly be simultaneously that skinny and busty, could she?

Speaking of Orion Slave Girls, Chase Masterson (the Dabo girl on DS9 - Rom's wife) was an Orion Slave Girl in Star Trek of Gods and Men, which was directed by Tuvok and had Uhura, Checkov, the Enterprise B captain, Harry Kim, and a bunch of other people in it:

Fact is, tranformers was funny and action packed, and people cared more about Bumblebee than people did about billions of vulcan dying. Shit i don't think people even quite realized it, not even in the movie did people seem like they actually cared.

The people who cared about the Vulcans dying were Vulcans.

Which is why nobody gave a flying fuck about what was happening on screen outside of trek fans and the weird kids who somehow relate to Vulcans.

Nobody gives a shit about an entire planet of nameless, faceless alien characters meeting their demise.  It's like claiming that Star Wars has no emotional resonance because nobody cared when Alderaan was blown up.  Audiences care about developed, sympathetic, or otherwise relatable characters in pain/peril.

To compare the destruction of Vulcan to a major character in Transformers is distinguished mentally-challenged.  But I suppose you can't expect much from the sorts of people that think Transformers was a good movie.

No, but you're implying that those of us who liked it are tasteless heathens/the unwashes masses. What kind of a world do we live in that Transformers is considered acceptable entertainment while Trek is not?

there weren't that many in-jokes!

and at least an in-joke is still a joke, unlike the entirely humorless Transformers. unless Jon Voight making bug eyes is supposed to be a joke

and the space elevator sequence was a frickin' awesome action sequence!

it would have been nice to have more ship-to-ship combat - we got a taste of that as the Kelvin got owned in the opening but not so much elsewhere

your complaints make NO FRICKIN SENSE

...are we sure they're not the same character?

also, Trek had jokes actually based around, you know, character and scenario, and not just half-assed pop culture references or delivering an unfunny "joke" in a big-eyed sarcastic voice

God, the Transformers 2 trailer makes me want to die

Alex Kurtzman: We had a scene with Shatner, and that ended up going.

Roberto Orci: Right, we had a scene with Shatner.

Did that even get tossed around at all?

Orci: We wrote it, it was in the script.

Kurtzman: The very last scene when Spock and Spock meet each other, finally. And elder Spock is convincing young Spock that he couldn't interfere, because it would have diverted [Kirk and Spock] away from their friendship. And that their friendship is the key to the whole sort of shebang.

Orci: He gave him a recorded message from Kirk.

Kurtzman: He [elder Spock] said, "Don't take my word for it." And he handed him [younger Spock] a little holographic device and it projected Shatner. It was basically a Happy Birthday wish knowing that Spock was going to go off to Romulus, and Kirk would probably be dead by the time...

Orci: It turned into a voiceover, at the end of the movie.

Kurtzman: So It was a nod too, but it ultimately felt like a cameo, in a way that wasn't.

Orci: I still liked it [Laughs].

Backfired? How so? Since apparently you didn't want to see the movie in the beggining, and apparently paid so little attention that you didn't notice Jon Voight and Turturro were both in the movie and actually were in scenes at the same time.
