The Man Thread
« on: May 07, 2009, 08:17:25 PM »
Okay, this thread is for general man stuff we probably wouldn't want to ask people about in real life.

Like, right now I'm trying to find a good way to trim my body hair. I'm a fairly hairy guy on my shoulders, arms, and chest. I don't want to shave it because I think that's for fags and metrosexuals. I have a decent razor for trimming, but I'm having trouble coming up with a good shape.

Should I just keep the hair aligned or what? What about my arms? My hair is curly being a black man, so my arm hair is all over the place? Any good way to maintain my arm hair without shaving it all off?

I waxed my arms half a year ago. Hurts like shit, never again, fuck that women are crazy.

As far as trimming go, i don't know man look, i trim my balls, i trim my thighs....

I shave my chest sometimes, shit Brad Pitt and Morgan Freeman both did it in Se7en, and i ain't gonna pretend to be more man than them. But sometimes i just pluck it out, that's right, pluck that shit out, doesn't leave marks, takes much more time to grow back, etc. Could've be hard to do if you have tons of hair on that areas, which i don't.

I have a lot of hair on my legs and forearms though, it's a pain in the ass, and it's ugly. I'm thinking of using those automatic razors they use to cut your hair, and if i don't like it i'll shave fuck it, and then i'll just shave it off.

And get up with the times dude, girls dig it, so it's not distinguished effete fellows shit. You can say what you want, i was fuckin' 2 hours ago, and she liked my shaved chest, so fuck hair man, fuck hair. I ain't supposed to look like a gorilla.

I'm not shaving my chest or arm hair. That's gay ass shit.

I want to appreciate my manhood without looking like a Sasquatch. I see nothing wrong with controlled body hair. I just want to do it right.

I wish I had body hair. I guess its good if your a slim teen but as you hit your mid twenties, you're expected of certain things. It especially looks weird if you're trying to rock the beard with a baby smooth bodeh.

You are cutting hair, there's nothing gay about cutting hair.

Shaving the chest so that it's bare is definitely homo or metro.

You better be rockin that beard and that unibrow if you are so worried about metro stuff.

Dude maybe you use cream, maybe you arrange your hair to look good, maybe you shave your chest because it's full of swirls and twirls and it looks ugly as fuck when you are rocking the opened shirt, maybe you dress good, that doesn't make you a cigarillo. Look, unless you are rocking some badass chest hair like hugh Jackman, take that shit out.

I have some hair on my back and shoulders.  My last girlfriend liked it and usually convinced me not to shave it but even so I'm very self-conscious about it.

So I've been shaving it again in recent months.  It's hard to reach the bits around the middle of my back of course so when my mum comes to town I get her to whip it off with the electric shaver. :-[

Chest I leave hairy and mega-manly.

duct tape the razor to a hockey stick, also replace the razors motor with the motor from a mini bike.    That's right I'm making this a real man's man thread.

I'm persian, which means I'm hairy like a motherfucker.  I have the bodygroom thing and used it once; it wasn't bad, just too much effort to put into weekly/monthly rotation.  One day I'm gonna fill my bathtub with nair and see how that rolls.

and not about body hair, but does anyone use an electric razor for their face? shaving is fucking awesome and I don't have the capacity to grow a good beard, so it's either looking dirty all the time or shaving all the time.  Both suck and I hate them.  I'm really white too so even with the closest shave the areas still look more dark compared to my forehead or hairless areas.

I've used an electric razor for a few years.  I hate shaving and even though the electric doesn't get as close as a good manual blade it's a lot easier and I never cut myself so I'm happy.

To really man it up, I'd use a 6' crow bar instead of a hockey stick, and a bare razor instead of a pussy little face razor.  And then I'd do my balls with it once I'm done with my back. :punch

If i've got a thick beard I use an electric razor to trim it down and then use a traditional razor to shave it all off.

Used Razor level 1 on my upper, right leg. FFFFFUUuuuuuuuuuu, it's a trainwreck, it's too close to the skin, and i didn't know when to stop, shit. At least it's still above the shorts line.

Used level 2 on left leg, that's the sweetspot. It's kinda funny though, it's like one leg got a buzz cut, and the other was like "F that".

For the last three or four years I've used what is probably the cheapest Philips.  Something like this:

http://www.amazon.com/Philips-Norelco-7310/dp/B001HOKY22/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1241746917&sr=8-2

I'm sure the more expensive ones cut closer but when freshly shaven I've never had anyone complain about getting beard rash from me.  If I shave in the morning, I have sufficient stubble to give beard rash by the evening regardless of shaving method.  But at least with the electric I can give it a quick run over in the evening if need be.

My face looks much the same as when I use a manual razor despite the electric not getting as close.

Yes it's an evolved mating practice.  Exposing your ass at minus 40C is a sign of virility and strength.  It kills the weaker males.

The bubble-gum butt look to me as a hetero, definitely sounds more disgusting than a hairy asscrack and it is most definitely less masculine.

I don't know how you guys got into this scorched earth look but if you have a smooth chest or back, you're not manly.  Not that there's anything wrong with that lifestyle choice but it's totally faggoty.
