So, is my TV borked or what?

After months away at college I got back home, finally back to my lovely 26 inch 720p Bravia and my PS3 of which I'm eager get back into.

The damn HDMI connection doesn't work anymore.  Both ports produce nothing, nothing at all, no sound, no image, its like there not even anything plugged in there.  I know its not the TV because the component ports are working just fine, and the PS3 and cable of which I'm using are working just fine on another TV.

So how do I fix this, can I fix this?  I bought it from Best Buy a year and a half ago, I'm out of the range of their return policy.  I'm fucked, aren't I?

Turn off the power to your PS3 and then turn it back on again. But when you turn it on, hold down the power button until you see something on the screen. When you hold down the power button of the PS3 when you are turning it on, it completely resets the video settings to the most basic settings (480p I think) so that it'll work on any TV or monitor. Once you can then get something on the screen, you can configure the video settings to match the TV you are hooking up to. You'll probably have to do the same thing when you take it back to your original location. But at least with this trick you can now move your PS3 around if you want.

It could be that the physical port on one of the devices got fugged up, but I doubt it. Its weird that it just stopped working though.

Update---I'm a dumbass

I had my PS3 set at 1080p, my tv goes to 1080i, thus the problem.  Everything all better now.  Feel free to ridicule me.
