It started off well enough but I could never muster up enough enthusiasm to finish it. Then again I played the Russian version and Russian ain't exactly a second language to me.

The tech behind the visuals seem pretty nice but it's wasted by the typical, bland Eastern-Europe art.

The crashes could be due to bugs in the PhysX drivers since that game supports it.  Try disabling PhysX or installing the newer PhysX drivers from Nvidia' site if you still want to give it a try.

Are any games actually scary past the 2 or 3 hour mark? BIOSHOCK ceased being scary after the art-house guy. And those were mostly "boo" scares. The hospital, which is like Level 2, was pretty scary. I think the first time I saw a spider-slicer, and it was moving all creepifying in the other room and I had to take a picture of it, that was scary.

Is Condemned scary at all?

Condemned is scary in the same way that the art-house or hospital were in Bioshock.  They actually both use the same type of scare where something you think is a statue pops out and attacks you.

Cryostasis isn't necessarily scary, but I thought the encounters and atmosphere became much more so after the halfway point in the game.  The enemies become pretty bizarre and awesome.
