I can't say I have a problem with the interface; it's really easy to navigate, but then I never played it on PC.  Yeah, the visuals... :lol  Unless I'm going crazy, the game did seem to run smoother at 720p versus 1080p though.

Nooooo I wanted this to be good  :gloomy

Remember, Prole's coming off the PC version of this game.  It probably won't bother you as much.  I posted how ugly the game is and how janky the frame rate is on day one, and on places like GAF, I had people disagreeing and saying it looked "absolutely gorgeous."  This is LOL-worthy.  If you don't mind the frame rate, I say give it a try, Mox.  It's a decent game for what it is, and the world is HUGE.

I wish Snowblind would make a Champions game on PS3.   :'(

Wow. Griffinborough is pretty awful. I have the game installed and the game still locks the camera and does the loading thing every few feet. This is the only spot in the game where I've been overly annoyed.

This a bad B-movie of a game. It's like, "Oh hey welcome to sacred 2 heres a sword you don't like it okay here's a cape and a sword thats on fire are you bored? sorry heres a cave with a flaming green axe okay hey did you know you can bring people back from the dead you can oh guess what you can summon undead spectres to fight for you have you seen the skill tree? want a tiger to ride? we can get you a tiger hey look pirates kill the pirates fuck yeeeeeaahh"

The N64 graphics and janky 2fps are part of the charm. It reminds me of that 3D Gauntlet game, just free-roam and with an obscene skill tree to hang yourself on on. It RULES.

Also, I am hoping the obscenely low difficulty is onyl because I'm still in the "first" little area. Although, it is amusing to leap into a group of brigands and start stacking corpses. I'd just like to have to use a little more strategy.

Well i'd hate to "settle" for the ps3 version when I can wait until I get a new PC down the road...sigh maybe i'll just go back to Titan Quest.

I'm really attracted to the open world go anywhere thing of this game, though.

The console controls are confirmed superior to the PC controls.  Having 12 face buttons mappable allowing instant one-button CA casting destroys the PC version with the keyboard + mouse click CA controls.  That one improvement alone makes the console version superior because you use the CA literally all the time.

This isn't a theory or my "opinion", it's a fact.  I've read about it on the official Sacred 2 forums and GAF thread as well, and they all pretty much agree.

Anyway, my only legitimate complaint about this game is the difficulty level.  As someone said earlier, it's just too easy, even on Silver.  Bronze must feel like you're playing a game on the Wii because I'm cutting through all the enemies on Silver with great ease.

I wish Gold difficulty was unlocked right off the bat but you have to finish the Silver main quests before unlocking it.  And then there's Platinum where you have to complete Gold before unlocking and then finally Nobium...same thing.

With that said, this game is all about the loot and exploring the massive world.  One thing I'm surprised about is that I haven't got bored of doing these completely inane quests...I figured I'd get bored with them being meaningless side quests but I just keep doing them like a machine.  I find them addictive with the rewards you get and stuff... they're also fairly quick to travel to.  It's not like in Far Cry 2 where you gotta trek for miles to get to the next side quest... it only takes a minute thanks to the portals, boats, etc.

So yeah, if not for the difficulty, this would be a 10/10.  As it is, I give it a 9/10.  The thing is, I'm not sure how I feel about having to complete Silver to unlock Gold because it kinda makes me want to just rush through the main quests and unlock Gold then Platinum then Niobium, but I was hoping for an epic first-time play-through instead of rushing through it like that.

There's also level requirements for the difficulties which I'm a bit confused about.  60 to unlock Gold, 100 to unlock Platinum, 140 to unlock Niobium.

Yeah, the difficulty thing is a downer. In Diablo it was acceptable because you had a MOB of dudes. So far my biggest Sacred 2 mob has been like 5 dudes. And yeah, it's amusing to cut down 2, raise them from the dead and watch them chow on their former companions, but I just wish it mattered more. Especially with the byzantine and entirely unexplained combat/skill trees. It would be super easy to fuck yourself without meaning to. I wish the tutorials were a little more sensible- The Blacksmithing tutorial is like. Some guy loses some shit, so you go get it back and then he goes, "Okay, go see the Blacksmith". What the fuck? That's not a tutorial.

But on the whole it's 100% fun. It's all about action and cool shit and I can forgive the small stuff.

If anyone wants to play tonight, I'll be around btw 6a nd 8ish

Not liking this game is on the same par as not liking ice cream or donuts. Fats and sugars are delicious. Likewise, lootwh0re lootfests with flaming weapons and tigers and hellhounds and METAL BANDS who give you GUITAR WEAPONS are delicious.

Pretty much. It's a bit of a mess from what I've seen so far, but yeah, it tickles the lootwhore nerves in all the right ways.

One of those games where within the first five minutes of playing, you're thinking "Uh oh, what buggy mess have I bought in to," until you get outside and start dealing death. Then it's like slipping into a comfortable pair of assless chaps.

So I got up to level 9 last night, and I'm starting to see some better drops. I'm getting to the point where I don't have to constantly monitor my health when I'm fighting more than one enemy at a time, which is nice.

Also, last night I actually looked at the overworld map. Much larger than I expected. Very cool.

Finally, after doing a bit of searching, it seems that a patch is in the works, though I don't know if it will fix any of the screen tearing, draw-in or performance issues. Apparently some folks have just flat-out lost their saves, so it may be to address this. Fingers crossed.
