Playing the game on PS3 on a SDTV. Requires me to use my glasses to read anything ffs. Still, game is awesome and I <3 it more than anything.

put points into bargaining post-haste so the merchants carry 2 and 3 star items

Where do I do that? I have barely touched any of the sub-menus or shops, outside of equipping my character with gear. I suppose reading the manual couldn't hurt, either. On both occasions that I've played, I've just started up and gone exploring, with little thought of my spells/skill trees etc.

Anyway, you can do it when you add those skill categories like "blach blah lore" and "blah blah focus"

Well, after looking through the menus and sub-menus time and time again thinking I was a distinguished mentally-challenged fellow,I discovered the Shadow Warrior class doesn't have the bargaining skill available to it.  :'(

Looks like I'll have to pump up awareness and hope I hit some better loot that way.
