As long as the older characters have new attack patterns, who cares?  If it's the same as the NES game but just "updated," then yeah,  :lol.

Did this game even get announced for Japan?   :-\

I'm pretty sure that after the minor circuit (which is where one of the new character is), then the attack patterns start changing up a lot. Then there's supposed to be a title defense mode/hard mode where the patterns and strategies are totally different because of some kind of handicap.

Archie. Learn to troll better. If you did your research you would know there's only one new character, Disco Kid.  The "second character" is the giga mac transformation in multiplayer... although there is a rumor about a new fighter at the end of TitleDefenseMode.

Its a glorious remake of a glorious game, but they've made some necessary changes.

-In the original, although blocking and ducking were advantageous in situations, every move could be avoided with a well timed dodge.  Videos I've seen show that blocking will provide stun for certain punches and duck is required for avoiding certain moves.
-there are no repeat fights as you advance through the circuits, and in their place we have some spo characters and disco kid.
-Exhibition mode is an achievement mode that nets unlockables for defeating opponents with certain requirements. The only confirmed unlockables are audio files however :*
-Title Defense mode. New patterns, more damage, weakpoints null.  Sounds like a whole new roster really.  Reviewers are dying on glass joe ffs.

Really looking forward to this and boom blox 2 coming out on the same day.

I don't see what the big deal is in that. Most play it for a retro throwback, not a slew of new characters. Personally, I think thats the way to go. I hate games that add a shitload of generic new characters in games. I don't have a Wii and probably won't be able to play this game anytime soon, but I'd much rather box King Hippo and Bald Bull than Negro Joe or Arab Hassan or whatever characters they come up with. Sega continually adding stupid ass characters to the Sonic franchise is one reason why they ran it into the ground.

SF4 added new characters and most of them are actually good.

but I don't see the big deal either.  It's a remix of the old punch out games and that's all I expected from it.  Only problem I have is that it's full price when it really seems like it should be a budget release.  If it was cheap like Klonoa, the Gamecube ports or Fire Pro Wrestling was on the PS2, it would seem like a much better situation.  I'm buying it regardless.

It's six!  They weren't as lazy!  Kinda.  I mean Seth is just SF's Dural, and Gouken is a design they had from years back, and C. Viper is a Vanessa (KOF) rip-off, but STILL...!   :lol

While it's not good to troll games you haven't played, it's also kinda iffy defending games that aren't even out yet, either.  :P

I just watched a flamenco clip. In the original he always did his taunt and followed it up with the same counterpunch.  In this game he still does the taunt+counterpunch routine, but has a better variety this time with different timings and coming from different directions.

Block disco kids right jab and he dangles his wrist in pain.  Bear Hugger and King Hippo have specific attacks that must be ducked.  I'm referring to  gameinformer and nintendo power previews [print].
