It got piss poor reviews, fans didn't want to play it(OMGZ IT HAS 3D!), and nobody bought it. Yet, I found this game pretty damn fun.  Sure it suffers from some repetitive level design and bad loading times. However, the weapon and combat system are great. I also love the unique "stealing window". Every enemy had a different stealing window, and if you did the right combination it opened. With that you could make one of the sweetest weapons ever, the laser whip.

I also thought the boss battles rocked. The battle with Death is fucking epic in this game. CoD also boosts one of the best soundtracks on PS2, if not that best. The CoD soundtrack is better than SotN imo.

It wasn't terrible but it wasn't great.  The story was really thin for a PS2 action-adventure game.

Level design was repetitive and the overall pace was quite slow.  There really was no point in playing Castlevania on the PS2 when the DMC series was available.
